@MaryCoffey-pn9zv11 ай бұрын
I mean no disrespect, but these are very similar to the shelters we make for the feral cat community. Our build is basically a plastic bin lined inside with a thick layer of styrofoam. We then add a layer of straw to help keep them warm. Cut out an entrance, and they are good to go. I wish government's would try building tiny house communities with shared bathroom and kitchen buildings. They could possibly hire community caretakers from the homeless population. It would be so much better than the tent/tarp situation.

Look at what we have in Germany and most Europe for decades. You'll find a pod designed specifically for this. Also check out the pallet homes. Your local city should actually pay for them in their budget. Sadly I have a not so fun fact; There's less jobs than homeless or our entire population. Do to federal government regulations. Sadly, I can move my companies to other countries and import through Mexico or Canada with NAFTA. Bush created NAFTA and Clinton took it to a new level! It's BS to watch this. In my home away from home, I'm a legal immigrant from the early 70s, I get together with other blessed business owners and buy small business buildings from auction and start a housing project for free plus counseling and possible placement. Try it here and regulations may stop you. It's quite sad.

Buy yourself some cheap electric heating pads. I use one under my feet because my floors get so cold. Also, a boiled wool blanket is a lifesaver for trapping body heat.

This is a good idea and a step in the right direction. It's an approach that recognises the strengths of all parties involved and moves toward a synergistic solution. Western societies need to take a new approach to housing that moves away from the mainstream "Bigger is Better/Newer is Better/ More Expensive is Better" paradigm. Not everyone wants to live in a suburb or a freshly gentrified older neighbourhood. Combine this kind of thing with appropriate sanitary and nourishment facilities and the "crisis" would move toward a solution.

This is a very stupid idea akin to trying to repair a submarine that is sinking with a bandaid. It’s a disgraceful and humiliating solution rather than a humane, proper one. Absolute embarrassment.
