I remember when he was feeding his new puppy a vegan diet. I told him on a livestream how ignorant that is to push your diet onto a dog. A puppy. He argued and yelled about it like a litteral child. I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. He is truly one of the most ignorant and annoying people I've ever been in contact with.

I don't know whether a dog would be happy on that diet, but I don't think it would hurt them physically, if that's the case. @@cloudthief8918 no. Dogs are omnivorous, but they still require proteins found in meat and organs to maintain a healthy metabolism. Dogs have evolved to eat small amounts of plant matter, but that adaptation came about only because of their proximity to humans. If left alone they'll go back to active hunting and scavenging. It's cheaper and easier to feed dogs the parts of animals we tend to not eat and toss a few vegetable scraps in as filler. Adding supplements to a vegan diet for dogs is simply not recommended. Lots of animals eat meat, that's just nature. I was HORRIFIED, however, to see someone saying they were feeding their CAT a vegan diet. If you ever see that call it out immediately! Cats are obligate carnivores. They only eat meat and their bodies are really sensitive to malnutrition. Cats are ambush predators; they only eat grass to help hairballs move through their GI tract or to induce vomiting if the fur won't exit their back end. Other than that they eat only meat baby.

@Elizabeth Luk it technically could be done for dogs, they need high protein among other things found in meat but you could substitute them with other foods. However thats incredibly expensive and you may even need a nutritionist to know that your pet is getting all the nutrients they need. Its also incredibly time consuming. It could be done, but that doesn't mean it should be done. Vegans number one priority is limiting the amount of harm they do to the environment and animals. The best way to do that is to feed your dogs and cats a meat based diet. If they feel that they can't go through with that without feeling bad then they should get a herbivore pet or not own a pet at all

No amount of swear words, threats or rudeness is equal to being a nice person but still eating meat. As a vegan who has pets they adore; I would never, EVER feed my cats a vegan diet... Cats (and dogs) require meat, their digestive systems are completely different to humans, humans can survive (and thrive) on a plant based diet, but animals like cats and dogs CANNOT. I will never force my diet and my choices onto my animals. If you want to have a vegan animal, get a rabbit or a guinea pig, do NOT force a vegan diet onto an animal that literally REQUIRES animal matter. Yeah, a lot of vegans say i'm not a 'real vegan' because I feed my cats what their bodies need, but so be it. I adore my cats and I will do my best to give them their best possible lives!
