I'm a teacher. And I'm also vegetarian. And let me say, this is NOT the way to convince anyone, not an "educational, pedagogical, didactic and family friendly way" a teacher would approach, nor the "respectful, kind, optimistic, reasonable and open minded way" a KIND vegan/vegetarian would use to convince people. This lady just *yells* at nonsense and points out tiny details that in reality are quite insignificant (such as the students getting into the kitchen to wash the dishes, geez lady no real teacher would entertain such a thought) while ignoring the valid points she could have made (that is, if she spoke in a respectful, sensible way). I'm a vegetarian teacher but I don't yell at my students because they brought X for lunch. If I'm asked why I don't eat meat, I will gladly explain my many reasons in a respectful way, stating that it is MY choice not to eat meat, as it is their choice (or their parents') to eat meat. Then again, it has happened to me that one of my students might forget their lunch/snack and come at school empty handed. In that case, it is my responsibility as a teacher to not let my pupils go hungry, so I always have apples with me, or nuts or some other fruit, so that I might offer them to the hungry student (of course I will always check my allergy chart). Small changes do count. Also, in Europe we do have reusable plates, in fact I do agree that it's an enormous waste to use throw away plates and cutlery: however, no valid point justifies how ridiculous, annoying and crazy this "teacher" is. She has "be kind" on her shirt and yet is disrespectful to the people that don't think exactly like her. Be kind, yes. But that means being kind to people too, not just animals, even to people who might not think the same way you do. Don't try to force your ideals down their throats, that will never work. Be kind and, if you want to "convince" people that "your way is the best way", be ready to be even kinder, respectful, reasonable. Thanks for the vid, Leo! 💕🌸

I am from Taiwan and no not all of us cook our own lunches some of us do bring our own lunches but the school provides lunch for us that is a full course meal of veggies, rice, meats, soup, fruits. Selected students are in charge of bringing the food to their classroom and then bring the empty trays back for the meal companies to take care of. And then we are in charge of washing our own dishes (we have metal bowls and utensils we bring to school) and we are in charge of all of our classroom cleaning and outside designated area cleaning starting at 7am. This was elementary school for me all the way to 6th grade. But it definitely takes a whole culture shift to do it that's for sure and I think it would also take away some jobs too. @@2paranoid2think Veganism is a privilege because not everyone can afford or get access to vegan food due to income and geographical location. People who work long hours may not have the energy to prepare a home-cooked meal or might not have access to a kitchen. Meat can be expensive, however, if you have a large family and live on little money then chicken nuggets are your go to. It would be different if you were single or lived with a partner and had no kids then you could afford the pricey vegan stores and products. Just because some of the poorest peasants thrives on plants millions of years ago doesn’t mean the same can apply now. They didn’t have fancy packaging or vegan industries then. Pirates went days and months without fruit or veggies but got scurvy and died, do we go back to doing that? I don’t understand your argument at all. Also, meat is a protein full of amino acids. There is more protein in meat than dairy, eggs, legumes, veggies, and nuts. It has B12, iron, zinc, etc.Veganism lacks proteins which are essential to the human body and why when done wrong can kill. It’s why vegans take vitamin supplements to replace that.
@kian68133 жыл бұрын
@@2paranoid2think B12 can also be found in the human intestinal tract as it’s a bacteria that is also found in animals and plants. Those who don’t get enough B12 are vegetarians as well as meat eaters so if you barely spend money on food or supplements then oof cause that keeps the blood cells and nerves healthy. Since you don’t have to spend much on food you think it’s easy for all people to be vegan which it’s not and shows how privileged you are. B12 is fed to animals as a supplement since they already have it in them. It would have been nice had you mentioned the bacteria part. The reason Vitamin D was added to dairy is because rickets was a large thing back in the 1900s and to prevent that the vitamin was added. Rickets is a bone disorder that causes weak soft bones, stunted growth and sometimes skeletal deformities. I don’t see how B12 or Vitamin D are bad if they help you. Also, if people are eating meat then so the fuck what. It doesn’t hurt you nor does it effect you. Some people need to eat meat because of disorders and diseases that could kill them. I live in Germany. In the cafeterias I went to during school and university the people prepering the meals would also wash the reusable dishes, cuttlery and glasses (with an industrial dish washer like in a restaurant). They didn't have any vegan meals, but always one vegetairian meal and one with meat. We only had water to drink in school for kids up to age 16 and only fruit as snacks. In most cafeterias there was also a salad or soup as a side or cheaper dish that was vegan. I know this is common all over Europe, I don't know how cafeterias look like in Canada (where she is from). But Dhar Man is cleary depicting a school in the USA, so if that's what your cafetireas look like she can critesize the real cafeterias, but not Dhar Man for depicting them correctly.

I had a school trip once and we were supposed to bring money to get food and if we wanted extra money to shop. We couldn't afford to send me with any money even just for food, and a teacher saw me and she bought me one of those five dollar meal things from dq when they had those. When I told my mom she lost her mind. She had a fit that the teacher "thought we were so poor that i cant feed my own fvcking kid!?!?" She was LIVID. Sent me to school with twenty bucks that i was to give to my teacher as "thank you"/to pay her back. My mom wouldnt let me go on trips if she couldnt send me with money for a while after that. My mom wouldn't let me play dress up at my friends houses because that "obviously" meant that friends parents thought my mom couldnt provide anything for me. Someone giving me a piece of gum was a "hand out" that she was too "prideful" for.

Good questions. Just an example: I saw a documentary about a pack of wolves that was transferred by a team of specialists in a reserve that had no predators. The reserve was in ruin because of the massive numbers of various herbivores. After few months, the entire area was radically changed. The flora and fauna were restored and flourishing because that pack of wolves. The food chain and its balance are crucial for any ecosystem.

lmao NO, vegans don't push for that at all. Most of the land is being used for animal agriculture which is one of the leading causes of climate change. EU climate scientists concluded a long time ago going vegan is the #1 thing we can do to reverse climate destruction.
