I don't think a lot of the time it's really the guy themselves having an issue with it, ultimately women are known for being "ok" with something, til they aren't. All the guy is thinking is "I'm the cute short guy to her NOW, but wait til she sees someone her size and good looking.". That may be an insecure thing, however women tend to operate with the "grass is greener on the other side" mentality. Basically, once a guy realizes where he falls short in the girls eyes, and begins to see it's only a matter of time til she realizes she doesn't want that.

I make fairly good money and something like this would often happen to me while dating because I am very average except for the money thing. Most guys that I dated were broke because I don't care about what they make but imo they would internalize issues based on my income. High dating standards are usually a way for people who are scared of commitment to stay single. When you really like someone, those sort of unobtainable standards go away. Plenty of times I had friends tell me my standards were too high (just because I didn't want to date anyone, but I think that should be normalized for people anyways) but when I met my one, I met my one. I still wake up wondering how I met the perfect match, and my mom says it's thanks to me being patient and not just settling for someone who I didn't have chemistry with.

I dunno man, as someone that's been married for 20 years now, I can absolutely say that "do you want kids" is one of the first things we talked about when we met. Because it's a big thing, but also because we were rather young. I'd just turned 18, and I was *adamant* that I didn't want children and never would, so finding a man that would never pressure me to do that, was important. Thankfully I found one that was also very clear on his needs. If you don't want to raise a human, never convince yourself to do so "because you should". There's plenty of bad parents, and it's easy to be one, especially if you don't want to be a parent at all. Me, him, dogs, and a house is what we have and I love it honestly. It works for people, and there's nothing wrong with it. Also I think religion can be an issue when raising kids, because the idea of what to raise them AS is part of parenting (since you pick for the kids, they have no choice in the matter), but if you're not having them, differing ideologies can be chill too.

totally agree wit everything mentioned and she does seem to have some extreme standards that are impossible to meet, just wish to mention two points: 1. Eye colour should in no way be a major factor one refuses to date a person whom they have some sort of chemistry with. Nevertheless, nowadays it actually is possible to change one's eye colour. It is especially convenient for individuals with brown eyes, as removing the brown surface reveals a blue undertone. It is a procedure that removes the melanin present in brown eyes. 2. Yes, plastic breast surgery is an option that women can opt, opposed to men who can't grow in height, but it is still ridiculous of men to expect for women to make such an unhealthy modification to their body with uncertain outcomes just to be liked by them.

I used to be one of those girls that only wanted to date tall/older guys. Then I ended up hitting it off with a guy who's of average height and a year younger than me.
