Both the effort you put into the Mini and the craftsmanship in making this video are absolutely amazing. Incredible work! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

My first 2 cars were Mini's a 1970 850cc then a 1973 Australian 1275cc twin SU carb's and oil cooler both purchased new they were great fun to drive.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
Indeed they are great to drive, the 1275 is what I was looking for

Beautiful well considered work as always. I often think where do you find the time whilst working full time.

Thanks for the comments, its a matter of time management

Lovely mini! I've never seen that way of spacing the (front) wheels out, it would seem weaker than either bolt on spacers or a spacer and longer wheel studs. Is there a reason you chose this method? (Even these methods are illegal here, due to the strength lost). Longer wheel studs would be readily available as they are used for the spacer drums. Ideally a negative offset wheel would be the best solution.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
You have a good point, although the wheel flens is flush with the surface. it makes a larger lever and yes that causes more forces.. Its what I had on the shelf... Also here it would not pass the CT... but there are tricks for it....

When Enzo Ferrari drove into the hills around Modena, he sometimes took his Mini Cooper. The small car had an engine tuning by Downton. 😀
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
Well they are fun cars to drive a bit go-cart

I see why you love your Mini..you know each part and function and are able to diagnose and fix..but to the average public driver taking it to a shop and have parts and repairs can bite the happiness figure..but damn yours is such a great car that can move on down the track/road..thx Steve for another great video..

You love anything that's yellow and black :) Seriously mate.. where do you get all your time from? Do you have someone(s) behind the scenes to help with production, mechanics etc? Your output is impressive.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
Well I am color blind, so there are certain colors I see as nicer then others... hence the black-yellow - blue preference. I am a one man job, a day has 24 Hr's... I work 8 hours (( full time job), 8 hours on cars, house renovation and racing, 2 hr on post processing... 6Hr's to sleep. 6days by 7. That does work out just fine. Thanks for the comments

Love the classic Mini(s). But, alas, I don't fit in them well. I love the CONCEPT of the Mini, probably more than the car itself. I SO wish that someone would do a proper, updated car, based on the Mini concept...and for a reasonable price. Only a pipe dream, that, because the world only seems to be interested in maximum profits now.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
I get that point, I have the same issues but in the reverse with some race cars, to short ( me)

Hi Steve, what’s happening with old crusty?
@01ls1z28dabxАй бұрын
I wish there was more old rusty content here. Main reason I subbed.

Its waiting, and by december I am retired from my full time job... thus more on old rusty

Another great video! So had you gone with a Weber, would you have used a IDA or a DCOE? Decades ago, at a race track in SoCal, it seems like I saw a bunch of Minis fitted with 40 DCOEs.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
I was planning a DCOE 40. in fact its on the self... But it needed a cut-out

What's the reasoning behind not allowing a full roll cage for street use? Anything to make the car safer can't be wrong.
@D3SshooterАй бұрын
silly legislation, as they believe that access and egress of the car is more difficult...
