This performance just feels so, relaxing. Like, comparing it to the studio track, the guitar is not as loud and the vocals are softer. The bass tone has more of the iconic Les sound, and the synth is a lot quieter than when I saw them last weekend. This is probably my favorite version I have heard.

Nobody is making interesting music these days and we're stuck in a world of musical mediocrity and familiarity. Then........Like a breath of fresh air, this comes along. Leave it to Claypool/ Lennon to make things interesting again. Claypool is an innovator and always has been and this is a great combination. Sean is the product of one of the monster talents of popular music, and I'm not referring to Yoko lol His Dad would have been proud with the direction Sean has taken with his music. His Father never rested on his laurels and always pushed the envelope. Like Father, like Son, though It's unfair to compare the two, but it's inevitable when you're John's son. I always liked Sean's music anyway. Dead Meat, Parachutes, On again, off again, etc. This is what happens when creative people are allowed to create music that makes you think a bit, as opposed to the mindless drivel of today's mainstream music industry. Their first album was excellent, and this one is even better.
@LLCoolPeas5 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you say dude, except that first statement. There's tonnes of interesting music out there being created right now, you just might be finding it hard to discover it. We're getting used to being fed it, via recommendations... like the mainstream did. In one sense its easier to discover new stuff via algorithms based on your interests, but in the same way its easy to become rabbit-holed. Let me know what you're into and i'll see if there's anything I can suggest for you to begin a new musical journey lol..

@@LLCoolPeas Amen . Only 2-3 of my favorite psychedelic rock bands are from before 2000. And theres so many more to catch, just fish beside the mainstream
@mimikurtz40615 жыл бұрын
About that familiarity ............. er ............... as my teens were from mid 60's to early 70's, there's nothing unfamiliar in this song. Beatles, Foyd and Yes all mashed up. Even the title is a nod towards Chris Squire (aka 'the fish'). Deffinitely entertaining, but more retro than creative.
@mtp44305 жыл бұрын
@@LLCoolPeas I hear you, and there's plenty of great stuff today. I was simply lamenting the current state of "popular" music. The crap that is in the mainstream and force fed to the masses.
