If you did your research, you would notice that every month after valorant's release cs:go's player base also rose. Valorant brought a lot of people into fps games (more specifically tactical shooters). Before that, cs:go's player base was declining according to steam's charts. So yes the game was dying.

But the game keeps disapointing, I really think some abilities are too Op and the game isn't balanced to me, plus vanguard and the community... So I recently went back to my good ol' CS playing FaceIt etc

Here's a tip. If you started valorant after coming from cs, don't treat it like the same. Yes everybody talks about how it's a "clone" but I've seen a lot of my friends struggle with valorant because they actually think the games are more or less the same and they kept trying to play it like they would csgo.

ive played counter strike for probably more than 20 yrs and I can say Valorant is cool and has a chance. though ive just played the game for just a week and a half now, i feel it's a worthy successor for the new generation, at least, but not necessarily a replacement for the old players. Counter-strike will always be tradition.. And I think culturally, deep down, the theme of terrorist vs counter-terrorist was very significant over the last 2 decades. But the world has changed now and terrorist attacks or the clear divide in the world back then is not as present as it was. Unity through Diversity is the driving force of today's culture and that is why valorant, with it's characters/agents representing different parts of the world, will appeal more to the new and younger generation.

I'm 34, have been playing CS since 2002 starting with 1.6 and stopped playing CS:GO in 2017 after I achieved Global Elite because of the cheating problem. It felt like I achieved my last goal in Counterstrike and that there was no more point in continuing because playing against hackers again and again is no fun and doesn't make sense. When Valorant was announced I was pretty hyped, though and have been playing it since the beta. The fact that you forget about cheaters in this game because there barely are any is such a great feeling that I missed in many online games in the past few years. I'm a CS veteran and I instantly switched to Valorant and never looked back. Valorant is clearly the better game for me.

I hate how everyone saying hype went down, the reason that valorant had so much viewers was due to inflation many people were putting 3-5 different accounts on a stream just to get a key. In terms of playership no one knows I'd it really is dying since there's no concrete way of checking. People love to assume things to favour their arguements and I find that so stupid. People saying that csgo also gets more viewership then valorant are ignorant to the fact that valorant has nowhere near the same amount of tournaments as csgo not to mention csgo has already built a franchise in its 15 years while valorant has yet to even have a LAN. Give it time before everyone jumps ship you can play csgo or valorant but don't be an ass about it cause in the end of the day freedom of speech is good but no one wants to hear a biased answer.

Valve is legally not able to improve their Anti-Cheat due to their policies on privacy. Which is why they made vacnet which only works after someone has cheated because they can not make their anti-cheat intrusive enough like Vanguard. Valorant isn't trying to kill CS. CS has been trying to kill itself for a long time. CS is the fat King, sitting on a throne, thinking itself untouchable. It has so much room for improvement yet it hasn't had any major update since it's release. Leavers, cheaters and for us Europeans.. Russians.. To be honest, i still prefer CS's game mechanics, Valorant's fancy animations tire my eyes way too much and all those skills are skyrocketing the game complexity. I still resort to playing Valorant though, because it has minimal leavers, great community, almost no cheaters and most importantly FEEDBACK.. in Valorant.. the community.. gets feedback, does Valve even know this word?

The CS series as a while only exists because of its hardcore player base. The game was essential created by the players (origins as a gmod) and is kept alive by players (it sometimes feels like valve would rather it died). The emotions and the feelings a game gives you are not something that you can just force. CS has history that Valorant does not. You can’t replicate somebody’s childhood or their experiences laughing with their friends or having a good time together.

I will say though the Operator is a good example of good gunplay. In Cs it's just generic "agents" and bland maps. 2. I actually disagree. I personally think the gunplay in Valorant is much more polished and feels much more responsive. To me the animations feel pretty much the same but where Valorant excels is the fact that taps are favored over spraying, so it feels much more skill based than cs' forgiving spray. 3 Cmon Cs has been out for like 10 years now, of course it has a lot of iterations, however you can't deny that Valve got complacent over the years and just turned to milking as much money as they can over the years. Valorant after just a year has much more gameplay variety than cs with it's numerous agents and frequent map releases. All of these factors and variables contribute to Valorant having a much higher skill ceiling which makes it all that more rewarding to play.

They are trash because the map design is amateur in design from the ground up. These maps are something we all drew in the playground at school in the back of our books. We have atleast 20 years of map design philosophy in games and Riot instead of dipping into that map philosophy decided that they'll just put gimmicks and different themes in each map as a selling point and voilà. Oh wow ropes for ladders on Split, destructible entrances/exit Ascent, 3 bombsites n Haven, Ooo teleportation on Bind. Riot literally thinks it's player base is stupid and easy to please with these lazy design choices and they are not wrong.

That's why I think they should (and probably will) at least introduce a ban system soon enough. Cuz at some point it's a given that some big synergies (like for example with Sage's wall and any character with vertical mobility for some of the maps) will arise and people won't want to see same strat every game.

Shroud is not relevant for CSGO, he used to be big back in 2016 or so but nowadays his words hold little weight. And yes, esports scene is dying because we can't have a major that we were supposed to have because of corona, and last major was boston 2019 if i'm right so there is little funding for these teams, they live off of prize pools and sponsors, so they are dying out because of lack of funding in the last 6 months or so. Of course, i don't expect teams like astralis and fnatic to die out, but smaller ones like vici/furia/ence might have a problem paying players and might disband.

Because there's something scarier behind the possibility of Valorant just being better than CS, the concept of Valorant isn't that much original because its' completely based on CS, luckly cs still has it's market but if Valorant ever takes its place that will mean that Riot could just be like "We're extremely rich, we can just steal every single possible market by making a similar game, but better because of our infinite resources" it will become a monopoly.

Csgo’s eu region of pro league have always been strong tho hasn’t it? I haven’t kept up with the controversy too much, but valorant is basically bigger in NA than EU. From statistics it seemed like csgo’s overall player base was declining, not esports, but after Valorant came out the player base began to increase in both games.
