It proved to me that the problem in the sequels with his characters was direction. I loved seeing him here. I hated him in the original movies. Filoni really did him justice by directing him properly and, like you said, bringing the wiser, battle wearied, real jedi, clone wars Anakin to life. It feels like Hayden has been vindicated and redeemed from the awful role he had in the prequels.

What's even better is this is set in the Battle of Ryloth which is the first major conflict she was really a part of. Before it was a lot of adventure and running around fighting droids. But this is the first time she really had to witness the clones dying by her side in a large scale battle

Anakin using both his light side and dark side to teach Ashoka her final lesson was brilliant. He basically was telling her to learn from his mistakes, and choose to live instead of the fight or die mentality which led him to the dark side.

The anime was amazing. My favourite Ashoka part was end of season 7 when she captures maul. Her jumping in high altitude was amazing. How she just killed so many mandalorians and captured maul. Anakin was the perfect master

I know Ahsoka is young, but until I saw a live action actress portray her in Clone Wars era, I never realized just *how young* she actually was in retrospect. She fought in so many battles alongside Anakin, at such a young age. It's crazy to put into perspective. Jedi literally used child soldiers to fight their war. Again, I already knew she was young. But the animation style provided some suspension of disbelief that she was older than she seemed.

I noticed that the first flashback scene was of the Battle of Teth from the Clone Wars movie where Ahsoka was first introduced. The second flashback I initially thought was Geonosis (the second one) but i saw the twilek freedom fighters and realized that it was the Battle of Ryloth from The Clone Wars season 1 (also if you look closely you can see you can see a phase 1 armored Captain Rex talking to some of the twilek fighters). The final flashback/vision of course was the Seige of Mandalore with a phase 2 armored Rex which i loved.

Funny how that works. Hayden also said that he didn’t really try putting Matt’s work into his Kenobi and Ahsoka performances. If there are times where he sounds like Matt, it’s either a coincidence or was done unintentional.

I like how they actually got it right. For some reason, stuff like Battlefront 2, that thrawn book, and hot toys figure get his hair wrong. They’d give him his ROTS hair with the clone wars outfit when it should be shorter. Lego also has a similar issue where they give his short hair from CW and give it to his ROTS version.

This episode was pure fan service with Hayden, and yet executed perfectly to show Ahsoka’s emotions with the one thing she always regretted since Ezra saved her at the end of Rebels-abandoning and thus failing Anakin by him becoming Vader. Second half of episode progressed the story beautifully as well as we finally will get to see Thrawn and Ezra and if Hera is going to Coruscant then we may see a part 2 of Dr P cloning project from Mando S3E3 and the creation of a Palpatine clone by Thrawn under Palpatines final orders to the Black Council and his heir Thrawn to create a Palps Clone for Rise of Skywalker. Definitely the best Ahsoka S1 episode by far so far and it’s about to get even better finally charting into unknown territory. Really hope Thrawn wins this season so Disney can set up an Heir to the Empire movie trilogy that uses all the characters from the expanded verse and redeem part of the sequels

It makes the Kenobi show even more dissapointing, it shows that should have been a Filoni project being that its a direct sequel to Revenge of the sith. Filoni must have been secretly pulling his hair when he saw what they did there. This here is what its all about, Filoni gets it

Hayden deserved all this love and credit back when he portrayed Anakin the first time. With the dialogue he was given, he did an excellent job portraying exactly what his character was supposed to be like especially in ROS. I’m so happy he’s back and gets all the love now as he sure as hell didn’t get any back in the day, if anything he got hate for it

The dream-like atmosphere… the clones disappearing in the fog generated by the ashes relased by the explosives… Simply marvellous. The atmosphere offers a sensation of “sublime” to the spectator. You can clearly feel powerless in front of such atmosphere filled with memories, so real but at the same time so distant. It’s like, and literally, reviving a memory, doesn’t matter how real it looks, you know it’s just an illusion. I believe that Anakin himself is somehow blocked on that dimension as if it was a purgatory, that’s the sensation I feel, however it’s probably been the only reality Anakin had been on contact with, so probably reviving these moments constantly could be delightful for Anakin’s soul.

I’m so grateful Hayden is back again. He is for me, the heart and soul of Star Wars. And I think George Lucas felt that way too. Hayden absolutely deserves every bit of success. He was treated so unfairly. First in the Kenobi show, now here. If he’s in it, I’ll watch it.

Now that us prequel fans are all older we really get to see all the time, dedication, and hard work you’ve done as an actor. Anakin is truly a jedi master in this epsiode he taught his apprentice one last lesson and ahsoka learned from it she reagined her firey sprit and now she is who she was before malachor before she lost all hope before she found out who darth vader is

Literally brought tears to ny eyes. Hearing Hayden speak as Ahsoka's Master ... you can hear the echoes of Obi Wan's teachings in him. This was the Jedi Anakin Skywalker. Kind. Compassionate. A little irreverent and always seeking a certain answer. An absolute. Seeing this brought to live TV is magic. And the little one playing Padawan Ahsoka is pitch perfect. You can't believe they haven't been training together for some time now.

The score by Kevin Keiner is spot on amazing, the music is almost dreamy but almost captures a “is this real moment” not just for Ahsoka, But for the audience too, it’s slows to allow people to embrace the utter beauty that was the clone wars and intensifies to show the harsh realties of war for a child whilst also adding an element of mysticism
