*tl'dr* - He keeps repeating this in videos like it's an issue but it's not, at least not in the Star Wars universe. This is a point he's brought up several times and he's very wrong about the issues the genetic diversity would cause in the wider galactic population but keeps repeating it no matter how many times people point it out. I'm getting a pretty wide range of figures on how many clones were made from millions to billions but yah know what? Wouldn't matter either way. Sure, you drop a couple billion identical clones on Earth all having babies we're gonna have a problem. But the Star Wars universe isn't Earth, it's composed of millions of habitable planets of which at least several hundred thousand are known to be inhabited in some way. Between the fact that a large percentage of those clones died in the war, many more remained in the Imperial military after and never thought of having family, the amount of habitable planets, the already MASSIVE gene pool that exists in this universe, the clones who sire hybrids with compatible aliens and those that just never manage to reproduce this is not the problem he seems to think it is. Considering the 50/500 rule (fifty people to maintain a temporary population, five-hundred to have a diverse enough genetic pool to effectively continue a species, give or take) the only way this would be an issue is if they dropped every surviving clone on a single planet with no other men and kept them trapped there. Congratulations, you made it to the end of my TED talk.
@FalconWindblader2 жыл бұрын
@@Goldenkitten1 I'd say that the argument is still valid to a certain extent. The problem was brought up under the assumption of just about every single clone wanna bang someone, & also the fact that regardless of what millions of habitable planets are out there, clones are only ever deployed to the hundreds that mattered, & an even smaller number of planets where they're needed in the tens of thousands at least. As such, the pool in which their genes could spread, would actually be far FAR smaller than the actual size of even just half of the known galaxy. There's also one more thing, despite the fact that humans are undoubtedly the most numerous species in the known galaxy, the sheer total sum of non-human species biologically incompatible with humans still far outnumbered the ones that do, thus making the pool even smaller. If it hadn't been for measures put in place to limit & minimize the clones' interactions with local populations & maybe even jedi, the cases mentioned could have been magnified by at least hundreds of times over just about everywhere. Sure, it wouldn't cause the galaxy to be overran by Jango Fett's descendants, at least not for a long long while, but it would still cause a lot of trouble for the local populations concerned in just like 20 years nonetheless.

Well, if you wanna know what happened to them read below Spoiler She died during Order 66, when trying to escape Coruscant. She had left the Jedi Order behind and wanted to desert with Darman (The Commando), when Order 66 was issued. A few Jedi who hid in the crowd like her ignited their sabers and a fight broke out. She got in between and a Jedi accidentally killed her. Darman had to watch when she died and went on to serve the Empire as an Imperial Commando, in the hopes of taking revenge on the Jedi for taking his wife from him.

Something to note, just a slight correction: Etain wanted to tell Darman but was told not to be Skirata, who was actually rather pissed this happened in the first place, and who explained to her that it would basically be a distraction for him, partly due to the fact of him being so young and not fully mentally developed as an adult, and Skirata was the one who told Omega that Venku/Kad was his grandson that one of his children left on his doorstep. She also was a Jedi Knight by the time she reunited with Darman, so it can be presumed she was around 17 or 18 when they first met, which just kinda makes the whole Darman being 11 technically thing kinda... yeah... ESPECIALLY when she sensed him as a Child in the Force instead of an Adult. Something else to note is this was not the first time a clone had been shown siring children, as the defector Jango himself killed had a child with a civilian. And lastly, a fun fact: Children of Clones don't have the rapid aging gene of their fathers, as this was confirmed with Venku/Kad Skirata, though since the series he was from is not only Legends, but also was cancelled, I doubt we'd ever see more of him or any potential other child of Clan Skirata.

You're forgetting the part where Etain decided it was her Force-given destiny to give Darman a child because that would somehow make his short clone lifespan okay. Even Skirata is miffed by this at first, especially with her being a Jedi and also unwilling to leave the Order to care for the kid. I'm pretty sure that was his main reason for wanting to take on Venku/Kad. He felt like he was technically the only other family of Etain and Darman and Etain wasn't willing to take responsibility. She eventually realizes her actions were not a good choice and apologizes to those who were in on the situation BUT STAYS WITH THE JEDI even when she realizes that they are treating the clones like garbage.

A lot of that from the RC books is due to Karen Traviss having an unhealthy obsession with the Norse-Gaels of Dublin and northern Scotland, while she kept lambasting the Jedi as "Space Taliban" (Ignoring for the moment that the Jedi do not have anywhere near the zealotry, barbarism, or cruelty of the once and current rulers of Afghan do)

Of all the topics I could watch before work, a video on Clone Sex was not on the list of expected ones. On a side note, I had always thought Cut Lawquane had fathered the kids he and Suu raised but according to the fandom wiki pages, he just adopted them when he married Suu Lawquane and took her surname. The kids do at least appear to be half human and half Twi'lek, but I was thinking (before I decided to Wiki Cut and his family) that if he is their biological father; would that make Rex their father too (since he and Cut are genetically identical) or their uncle? I eventually reasoned Rex would be their uncle in that scenario. But anyway, here's a little nugget of awkward truth - every child fathered by a clone of Jango Fett is technically related and would be a half-sibling.

“It is a classic problem in antiquity. All of our lives, we hear whispers about how our genes are special. Do we own our genes as individuals, even today, Long after all activity from that war has ceased and we have fulfilled our original purpose? Although I must accept the fact that we were bred for war and nothing else, and nothing in my life matters, ultimately, those things don’t matter, either. Therefore, as you can imagine, many clones want to define their own purpose in life, I know many clones that started a family after the war. I almost made one myself, but the woman I wanted to do that with disappeared from my life suddenly. I have no one to pass my ideas onto either, except my friends, brothers, and employees. It is important to share with the next generation about the things in which we had faith, things we believe about the universe. That is what I have shared with my brothers throughout the years.” -CS/CT-8711-12 “Cheng” Captain and Scout of the 442nd Siege Battalion

is the 442nd Batallion at the end a reference to the Nisei 442nd (a batallion comprised of Asian-American soldiers, more spesifically, Japanese-Americans, but ive read somewhere that Chinese & Koreans were also thrown in there) battalion in WW2?
