As the grandchild of holocaust survivors, I think people really need to listen to how prophetic Mr. Schwarzenegger‘s words are. He grew up in a time where, instead of going against the Nazi party, many people in Germany and Austria went along thinking. Maybe this will make Germany great again, maybe this will make Austria great again, but it didn’t. Now you did have people stand up against the Nazis, and they were quickly taken care of. Maybe if you had many many more standup the outcome might’ve been a little different. But sometimes you have to have the courage even though if you do that means certain demise. You don’t change history for the better with complacency or collaboration. Not to mention the fact, Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been a good dude. Yes there’s been issues and transgression but we’re all human. At the end of the day, the guy has tried to be better. He’s tried to inspire people to have courage, and that is incredibly powerful.

Wise and intelligent words. Great man. Great interview. Good laugh! Respect to Arnold - The Terminator!

When Arnold mentions Gorbachev seemingly offhand and then Stephen pulls out a photo of them together it's a weird, stark reminder that all this shit is totally rehearsed. Call me naive but I'd like to think these conversations are at least happening mostly in real time.

They do rehearse. Stephen has said so in the past. This is TV, after all. The only Questionert I have seen that appeared unrehearsed is the one with Barbara Streisand in her home.

it is more or less rehearsed and they‘re open about that actually…

I came here to say this but was looking for a similar comment before posting. I didn't have to scroll far. It's kind of disappointing in a way.

In a world where political correctness and cancel culture has ruined careers of those in the public eye, networks can't risk having talk show guests saying what they really think and feel unfiltered/uncensored.

Arnold will forever be my super hero. He is talented, smart, funny and what is more, he is decent and brave. Great combination. Thank you for this interview!

@@CjOwyn exactly! 😡 Republicans are the problem and pretending “both sides are the same” is disingenuous and deplorable

Born in a divided Austria (yes, just like Berlin) in 1948 he witnessed first hand the devastation another maniacal leader and fellow Austrian could wield against a mesmerized, complacent populace

He is a really interesting person with an amazing story, and if you want to hear a longer more indepth interview, try the one with Rich Roll. I so enjoyed it. Arnold really blew me away with his insight on history and life in general. I wish more of our current politicians in the US could be even remotely like him.

Arnold's earliest memory: it was charitable of him to share that. You're a good good man, Mr. Schwarzenegger.
