How was it unpopular? It peaked within the top 20 in 18 countries, the top 10 in 13 countries, the top 5 in 8 countries including number 2 in the UK. Finally it made it to number one in both Poland and New Zealand, the latter where it remained for four weeks! A highly successful song commercially.

No matter what genre he did his vocalswere always crystal clear, you could hear every word. Im convinced MJ loved rock music on a big level, his voice totally suited that genre. MJ waa one of the few artists that were loved even by rock/metal fans...everyone loved him it was unreal

One of my favorite MJ songs...this is hard rock with a pop twinge. The mid song solo is great but the outro solo is just epic and probably underrated as far as Slash performances go.

Everything is underrated in this song even though it is a masterpiece. She has a wonderful melancholy and darkness. And indeed it's one of Slash's most beautiful solos in my opinion.

Maybe MJs most underappreciated song of all time, simply sensational! My friend used to borrow my Dangerous album to listed to this song and the CD was always more scratched after each time so I just gave it him bought a new one!

Other songs by Michael that showcase a gritty vocal delivery are Scream, D.S, Come Together and Morphine. He was very underrated as a vocalist in my opinion. He could go from Pop to Rock, R&B to Gospel and a Broadway show-tunes style of singing.

MJ could sing any kind of category of music. Imagine if Michael Jackson, would have done an ALL-ROCK ALBUM, with the Greatest Guitar Players of all time, Like Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, BB King, Prince, Carlos Santana, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and very underrated Tito Jackson. Those are my personal picks. It would have been EPIC.

Michael and Slash were great friends and collaborated several times. Michael Jackson is the most iconic versatile musical artists of the past century. You need to seriously up your Michael Jackson knowledge game. Both Dirty Diana and Give in to Me written, composed, and conproduced by Michael Jackson. I was looking at their playlist for mj and they haven’t even scratched the surface yet and I’m so excited to see them dig more into his whole catalog of music. He is my ultimate favorite artist I grew up to him so seeing people listen to him for the first time makes me remember how I felt when I first heard the song. 😊

This is one of my Top 2 songs ever and it's not #2 lol. Criminally underrated! I think my favorite part here was how you were told there was a great Slash solo in this but weren't warned there would be TWO of them, the milder one and the FIRE one, so you thought the first one was 'it' but then were unexpectedly hit by the FIRE one in the end 😂

Off the wall, thriller, bad , dangerous, history, = these five chronological albums are the best albums in history of music as well. and there is maybe song or two that you'd need time to understand or dislike. Otherwise every single song is a masterpiece. Unbelievable that a single man could deliver once and once again.

also remember his father Joe played guitar and all his kids with Jackson 5 played instruments and this was way before digital era of music so MJ understood music sound and production to the nth degree. Jennifer Batten (great lead guitarist) toured with him in 80's and 90s and would suggest Heartbreak Hotel live from Wembley..

He does a lot of the gritty vocals from Bad album onwards, even in his more pop flavored tunes. I love grit in vocals and MJ is the king of grit. Also the king of rhythm. His rhythmic pop tunes from Bad onwards with the grit, it's the best pop ever created.
