Havent listened to much yet, but your voice, diction, and personal delivery is pretty much nearing the archetype of the audiobook narrator. Lol but seriously I cant find anything to critique you on. Im actually trying to read Aion right now and was almost compelled to make an audiobook as well. The material is so meaningful/useful. But this is loads better than I couldve managed. Thanks man.

Your delivery is great. It flows very naturally. A few sentences I couldn't understand, but it's far superior to anything Im capable of and how someone could vote it down is a real head scratcher, as this is the only version available to listen to, so the fact that you did it is be commended even if it had been a robot's voice, but its actually excellently done. I paused a million times to reflect.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Jung's works are pretty good reads, but they are definitely not easy.
@tommeakin17323 жыл бұрын
I've been wanting to read or listen to both Jung and Nietzsche for a while now, but basically all of the audio readings I've found have been staggeringly dull and monotone...accept for this one.... It doesn't help that my attention is typically split between other menial tasks whenever I listen to pure audio - but I can still focus on relatively complex material as long as the audio in question isn't tantamount to white noise lol. I'm not sure what it was, but your reading really hit the spot. I was doing some pretty menial tasks while listening and kept finding myself lost in the reading - and I even had a couple of those magical "AH" moments. Thanks!

You're welcome, I hope you'll enjoy them. One of these days though, I really need to do an episode about synchronicity, because I feel that that's at least as misunderstood as the collective unconscious.. so yeah, thanks for bringing that up. And thanks, mate.

Wait. So the WHOLE thing is "Aion" right? Not just the parts marked "Aion/"?
@caine34104 жыл бұрын
Your confusion is understandable. The collective works of Jung (of which this is a very small exerpt) are grouped into volumes. This one is from Volume 9 (it shows as Volume XI on the picture, which is a very unfortunate mistake on my part). Volume 9 however, is further divided into 2 parts: Part 1 - Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious (this video is from this part) Part 2 - Aion: Phenomenology of the Self For details, you can check out this related wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Collected_Works_of_C._G._Jung So to answer your question, this isn't Aion, but "Part 2" of Volume 9 is (which are correctly tagged as Aion in their respective titles), which you can find here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGW6e3yAhJeEjbM

Wow, indeed, nice catch! Thanks for pointing that out. Since this was my first recording, I'd like to think that the processes of how I record and edit have improved since, so hopefully this isn't something that happens too often, but by all means, if you do encounter more discrepancies like this, please, leave another note, it's quite helpful. If it turns out that this is something that happens more often, I might have to add another step to make sure it doesn't. In either case, I'll try to keep my eyes (and ears) more open during future recordings.
