A new scenario came out for this around a year or two ago, though I haven't picked it up yet. It changes the game kinda dramatically as it adds a war element to it. I tend to play this game solo a lot and really enjoy it.

Great review! I said the same thing about this game letting you reap the fruits of your engine building when I played tonight! I really enjoyed the game.

To answer your question at the beginning, the number one game where it feels like I just get my engine going and it stops is Scythe. Which is, incidentally, why I'm not a big fan of it.

I feel exactly the same. Have you played it with any expansions? I haven't and I'm hoping they 'fix' that somewhat?

No, I haven’t played it with the expansions and I’m also wondering if they fix some of my issues with the game (specifically I’ve heard good things about Rise of Fenris)

I like how you leave the game on the table over multiple days to play. I hope someone does a top 10 on games that are played best this way.
