With the Jets revamped defensive play, maybe it would be able to handle Laine's deficiency with his defensive play. He has been close to a point a game player. His shot can change a game in a second. I like that in a tight playoff game. Any power play hes on is dangerous. Might be worth limiting his ice time and use primarily as a PP specialist. If Laine came with Jiricek...might just be worth the trade just to get him even..Hes as a good sized right shot defenseman. If this is a legit trade offer i think it would be a good move worth checking out only if Columbus eats 3 mil of Laine's aav. I believe we would be able to eat some of his salary as well if we decided to attempt to flip him

Is David Jiricek NHL-ready? If yes, I really like the framework of this deal: McGoraty + Pionk for Jiricek + Liane, with finding a team to eat a bit of salary to even things out. But the Jets would need to pay a 3rd team for the salary retention so that Columbus can get all of Liane's salary off the books.

Either that or...maybe Iafallo moves to CBJ too. The Jackets would get out of their cap hits after the year and still get a roster player in exchange. Lots of ways to approach this.

@LockedOnJetsNHL Yes, I think this proposal makes sense for both teams and could be a good win-win. I'm a Jets fan in Winnipeg. I think getting Jiricek out of Columbus would be of high interest to us.

I'm okay with that. In fact, I would even be better if we were to trade two formally great defensemen for one another. I'd trade buying for Everson. Severson has a lot more defensive ability than pink and he can manage to put in the puck as well too. So you get the best of both worlds. Also you can put a youngster up in the left side and not worry. Not bad

Caps could be interesting, just really depends on what Rutger himself wants to do. Washington hasn't seemed to be too aggressive in making offers though.

Are you on crack? Liane and Lowry on a line together 😳I like some of your takes on the jets but that’s crazy. Liane will whine if he doesn’t play with stars. Also you said maybe ehlers will stay if Liane comes then proceeded to make a line where they aren’t together? Maybe I missed it. Ehlers and Liane line would need a responsible player like Vlady or something like when Statsny was here. Liane would put people in seats and add scoring (if not hurt and his head is right) but looks like a train wreck in the making.

Liane is a defensive liability. Among the worst in the NHL. There is no way I would want him back on the Jets.
