I've been trying to find these guys for a while to breed them in captivity. They are such an awesome species of lizard to keep as a pet! I met my first chuckwalla in captivity about 10 years ago and he was the sweetest lizard in the world. Apparently the owner got him from a breeder on the east coast but i still haven't been able to find any to work with. In california if you have a fishing license you can actually take these into captivity to propogatethink is fantastic if you are someone that has experience breeding desert lizards. That way they can be further established in captivity so you don't run into the issue of mass illegal poaching like some of these big "reptile wholesalers" are doing. Would love to see more footage of these beautiful lizards!

I have a bunch of videos of different chuckwallas on my channel here. A lot of people keep and breed chuckwallas.

Nothing common about chuckwallas--they're exceptionally awesome.

It can be hard to find them sometimes! Most of the clips in this video come from just two days of looking for lizards. We got skunked a lot going out and trying to find them

Hi Crazy Cody! Great chuckwalla video. Do you have any suggestions on making a little sanctuary for them in the yard to provide shade, water (I'm surrounded by creosote)?

I found a baby chuckwalla in our swimming pool. He lost a few toes and wore down all the claws on his front legs so releasing him he would not have survived. I’ve had him for a year now. I recently found out that yellow Nerium oleander trees are poisonous to all animals and people. But my chuckwalla has ate the flowers several times has not shown any signs of poisoning. I’d be devastated if he died!! I just don’t understand why he has been able to eat them. An ideas?

Great video and information, Chuckwallas are my favorite lizards, and they also make really good pets. Do you mind sharing what city/town that was where you saw them running around? Also this is kinda unrelated but do you have advice on finding blue death feigning beetles or tenibrionid beetles in the southwest in general (Asking because I saw your video of one in 29 Palms).

have you ever seen a gila monster?
@JoeJoeTheCapybara4 жыл бұрын
I have seen a Gila monster one time. It was about 5 years ago in Nye County Nevada. It was small and disappeared down a hole the second I saw it. That's the only one I have seen in the wild. I have met so many people that seem on accident either in the road or they have them fall in their pools. It can be quite frustrating lol
