I am not very religious. However tragedy did strike my family 3 times in a little bit over a year now. When I say tragedy, I mean it in the literal sense of the word. I have tried to make sense of the last one of these tragic events, but I could not. It was too overwhelming. I found a little bit of refuge in the little religious beliefs I held. The problem is that I am too rational to be truly religious. Then I discovered John Butler. He is wise beyond anything I have ever experienced. He seems to have reached a point where he is at peace with the entire universe. Listening to John is an absolute delight. He makes even the darkest days a little bit brighter. Even someone like myself can find peace by simply listening to him. I wish someone that is dear to my heart could listen to him. However that person can't. Not because she cannot hear. No, simply because she is in a place where they don't allow computers or radios or TVs or phones to be used. I will try to send her a letter and share with her some of the wisdom John.

"can you learn that from a book?" .... and i opened up this man opened my feelings up so much, i couldn't stop the tears how could i have forgotten about the very basics??? i have missed so much, while it's life itself that i missed!! i used "common sense" enough times in arguments and discussions, so why did i forget about the very first steps of it?? i started to notice that i got some of the feeling back i had as a kid, before i got into an accident, but this one video is my basics from here on once again will i become myself, and no longer lose the basics of "common sense" this man isn't just talking about religion, he's talking about life's very first steps i'm not religious, but i DO admit i forgot about common sense that everyone should always have with them, for such long time my dream always has been to create videogames, and when i got the feeling back how i thought as a kid, i knew that someday and somehow i could be like i used to be, to get there, eventually but this man has brought me all the way back to my roots, instead of just that small feeling thank you, dear sir, this pulled me out of a dark place i hid in, just to avoid pain i will continue sitting in that dark place, but no longer hide in it i'm an introvert, a person who's not very good with communities and such, as i want to be myself, and not "one of them", but with this one lesson, i can actually BE myself, once again i'll put this video in my favorites, so i can look back when i need to, to keep my head up i don't want to lose myself in that dark corner, i want to keep being me, and see myself this video woke me up, but more than anything else ever did thank you once again!

Kurachi84 So when is GOTY edition of your game coming? ;)
@Kurachi844 жыл бұрын
@@donereasoning6134 I doubt i get that far, but making fan made games for fun (as it's a hobby) may eventually happen. It's just that i'm still stuck with my parents now, and my father suffering from Emphysema and dementia, makes life and time very limited. Once i have my own place and.... well, by then my father won't be around anymore, i'm afraid, i will first get a lot of mental rest (not going into detail what i had last 6+ years), and then play some games myself, which eventually give me ideas and inspiration, as i'm a "i wish the game had" kinda guy, which made me wanna create games as a kid, already, and once i'm mentally rested and have been into life some more again (feeling down for years makes one feeling numb), i'll be busy with everything i need. I doubt it takes years, once i live by myself, to start learning more than i know now, which are some small details, but when the time comes, i'll be doing that, and when i'm far enough, i'll create games i already somewhat have on paper (txt files, haha). But getting my own place will take years, as there are more and more people on the planet, and every year many people need their own place, too, so i might have to wait for more than 4 years now, and already on the list (is how it works where i live) on houses for 1 year.... so yeah, it'll take a lot of time now, plus stress due to my weakening father.

Precious teachings of one of the few really enlightened people of today´s world. Every word of him comes out of his PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIVINE. He hasn´t only read about it, he isn´t only believing what he read about it, only repeating what other people say about the divine. He isn´t believing in some image he constructed of the divine - no, John Butler HAS BEEN ONE WITH THE DIVNE as Jesus said: "I and the Father are one". That makes John Butler´s words and his instructions for meditation so precious. I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit has led me here.

Clearly you've never heard of quabtum / astro physicists.. Mathematicians.. Quantum chemists etc.. America has conscious philosophy on a more scientific rather than spiritual perspective... We dwell deeper on concepts due to the information available to us... For example.. As he speaks about calming the mind in meditation and lays out a course pertaining to the purpose and causality of such practices.. The astro physicist and quantum physicist notice the same reactions to such habits.. But don't stop at describing the process as an exchange of "spiritual radiation".. Rather.. They see it as a fluctuation of electromagnetic wave length.. And apply that knowledge to how conscious electromafnetic wave length interfaces with the quantum physical world around them.. And instead of just explaining what is happening.. They also explain WHY its happening and HOW its happening... Not implying that John is intellectually insufficient for IQ is based upon perspective.. But that is the differentiating factor in habitual philosophy in contrast of our cultures. It is common for people to be oblivious to this truth due to the fact traditional American philosophy confuses the average mind to begin with.

No dissin, this man puts me to sleep every night. I set it on my chest and lay down and I'm out like a light. After a few days of different ones I have a calmer way about me because I keep them going if I wake up. It's great.

Thank you both, this is wonderful. I hunger for stillness, and I think one of the gifts of these videos is that they kind of give me permission to be still-to remember that taking time to be still has value.

Sleepstories ASMR, am I alone to notice that John Butler voice, beyond the wisdom of his thoughts, generates intense ASMR triggers ?

François Cauneau You are not alone, my friend:) His voice is absolutely perfect for ASMR, which I think makes his words-obviously meaningful and valuable in themselves-sink in in a special way.

My teacher said that he liked me, Because I acted on everything that he told me. He said that I don't miss a thing. This message in this video. Is most amazing, it make me feel as if I was in the presents of my teacher again receiving new material to work with. I would really love to sit with you some time. I could give you my full undivided attention, all day long. For NOW I Am going to study all of your videos, I can see here. I am so privileged to find your message right here on you tube. And I thank you. G.

Thank you John for pointing me back to the simplicity of common sense meditation. To be grounded in stillness and presence. Of course simple doesn’t mean easy, it takes work and repetition to unfold as you exemplify. It’s a relief for me to let go of all those spiritual books and teachings which were only food for the mind. Heart felt thanks for your wisdom. Much love.

So then, what happened to Mooji ? X
@glennjudge16 жыл бұрын
Hi Jane. Lovely to hear from you! I’m still very much following Mooji if fact I’ve been back to Monte Sahaja for a third silent retreat this Summer. We have a Mooji Sangha group here in The Lake District too. John Butler points to that Stillness too, very fortunate to meet them both. Hope you and your yoga classes are doing well. Keep in touch I’ve missed you X

I was genuinely surprised by John's 'common sense' Glenn. I thought the "feet on the ground, bum on seat, hands on lap" was just preparation for the 'real stuff' of meditation. For John it is the real stuff. "When you are paying attention to your senses you are not thinking, are you?" Phil
@glennjudge16 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil. Yes the elusive ‘real stuff’ of meditation. Our mind is always looking for more, or a goal or a purpose for practice. I always go back to the psalm ‘be still and know I Am...John’s common sense approach takes you into that Stillness. As stillness there is no next, goal or purpose there’s just Being. What is missing or lacking then? Great interview Phil your the man at framing profound yet assessable questions.

Being present as a primary focus throughout the day, I have found that I don't have a said "time" I meditate. I may be walking down the garden path, but the grounding and peace that comes from a formal meditating session, I now know through the waking hours and into deep sleep. Its more a way of life, just being. But I would never say don't do formal meditating. This is just how it has unfolded for me. Wonderful video, thank you guys.

There are a lot of things that I either don’t understand or just don’t agree with that John says, but there is a lot of things that I’m sure people even more cynical than me could glean from the things he says. Lovely man, and I love listening to everything he has to say. Even if it’s not something I can comprehend, understand, or accept it’s a good experience to try to understand.

Thank you John, I love the'simplicity' of what you are saying, it make it feel accessible to me, having my feet on the ground is definitely the easy forward for me. It reminds me of Satish Kumar, who describes himself as an earth pilgrim, and who uses the mantra of'I have arrived, I am home'. This resonates with me in the same way as what you have described. Thanks to you both for taking the time to make these videos, they are reaching many people in this works of troubling times.

Just heard about John on BBC website. Listening to him describe “feel your feet on the ground..” reminded me of having read Aldous Huxley’s book “Island” when aged around 14: the mynah birds that constantly reminded people, “Here and now, here and now” was such a powerful concept it’s stayed with me for decades since 🙂

He has the voice of Christmas dreams; the moaning breath of winter that sweeps in, crisp and sweet, with sparkling snow, dark skies, the familiar scent of balsam firs, and the comforting aroma of burning oak wafting from chimneys throughout the neighborhood.
