So true. It's how I found Thich Nhat Hanh. I initially only listened to it to relax and over time I came to listen to, then understand and finally even agree with the words. Now I can say Thich Nhat Hanh has truly helped transform me, and I found him just through an asmr channel.

Dear John, This summer I became aware of these segments having had no experience previously with meditation, but they were strikingly fascinating, enlightening and wise. My grandmother has just passed away and the notions of which you speak such as oneness, separation, consciousness, infinitude, darkness, love, spirit etc. have never been so real as they are today. Perhaps they will become increasingly so until ‘my’ individual separation is taken into the unity of the beyond... With peace and dignity, Abby

@cryptchat8254
@cryptchat8254 3 жыл бұрын
Dear John, first I wanna say how much I enjoy your videos. Since you are touching a very complicated matter on the first question of why bad things happen to good people I would like to ask you to go into more detail on that. Bad things happening to good people is a very abstract phrase which might lead to the fact that your answer remains on the quite abstract level, that it depends all on one's own level of consciousness. Let's take two examples of bad things happening to good people to make it more realistic. A young woman is diagnosed with a disease that will kill her within a year. A father is loosing a child in a traffic accident. I think both are terrible things that change your life in a most profound way and which we wish that they should never happen to anyone. So let's imagine these people who are full of grief, anger and pain wonder why these bad things have happened to them. Is there in your opinion a certain change of consciousness which could make theses tragedies and their suffering appear not as a bad thing? Maybe one could answer that these are chances for these peoples to grow in a way that would otherwise have been impossible. But then one might ask back: if there is a god who chooses this cruel way to make people grow - would he not have the power to let them grow in another way without this incredible suffering? And second: If I should choose to make my children grow by inflicting terrible suffering on them I surely would be considered a bad person. So if god chooses to act this way - can we still call him a "good god"? Don't we mean when we talk of a good god that god acts in a moral way that's at least remotely connected to our idea of what is good and bad? Please don't get me wrong. I do not want to criticise you with these questions. I just think that quite often spiritual advice is switching to an abstract level because it cannot stand the confrontation with everyday life. I suppose you have been thinking enough to have confronted yourself also with these matters. So I'd be grateful to hear your opinion on that.
@fairweatherfriends.
@fairweatherfriends. 3 жыл бұрын
One thing I’d like to point out is you say why would Source make man in such a way that we have to suffer to grow. But the thing is I don’t think God makes it that way as much it just IS that way. It’s like how there can be no good without evil. Maybe it’s not a choice as much as it’s a universal truth or law.

I do believe faith is not about getting our material needs, is not like "hey i got faith to get a Ferrari", for me faith is more about living a right life, trying to be better with everyday experience even if is bad or good. Maybe faith is misunderstood, the real faith can bring you material stuff, faith is about to improve ourselves. Wonderful. Beautiful. Absolutely astounding. If you would like to know how to not cause debt in 2020, there is only one way. Mirror it off time using obelisk's and sundial's and use the universal human suit and will balancing tools to exactly balance your will and mirror it off each other and time itself. This will cause the natural singularity which results in a return in everyone's will.

Not to sound too harsh since this gentleman has given a lot of thought to both his topics, on the question of Faith it seems the justification is that faith dwells in a higher level of conciseness where evidence is left behind and the vacuum is filled with wishful aspirations, it could also be the place where we can hear voices or that we can substantiate the authenticity of our chosen Gods because Faith is not owned by Christians. On the question of why do bad things happen to good people, a difficult question for most worshippers because it is in conflict with a loving God, and to say we don't see the big picture just doesn't do it, the answer I suggest is that a loving God doesn't exist.
@AnnaPrzebudzona
@AnnaPrzebudzona 2 жыл бұрын
Finally, I've found a comment that isn't just an admiration of John Butler's voice or beard or his wisdom in general. I was rather disappointed with the answer to the question of ”Why do bad things happen to good people?”. I didn't even get it until I read your comment. Now, at least I understand that the answer could be interpreted as ”good and bad are our subjective interpretations and perhaps from God's perspective it is all perfect”. And it is, in a sense. The world exists and that could be considered a proof of its perfection. I understand that good and bad are our concepts and we project them onto reality but suffering is not a concept, is it? Although, I suppose that enlightened people can transform their suffering into an experience that is as meaningful and bearable as any other experience.
@jim2003sound
@jim2003sound 2 жыл бұрын
@@AnnaPrzebudzona Thank you for responding. The trouble with interpretations is that you can turn apples into oranges with them. We don't know what Gods perspective is and if "IT" thinks the world is perfect and that good and bad are indiscernible we must deem it to be an immoral entity and not worthy of worship because we know the difference between good and bad and we also know the world is not perfect. The question now is, why should we attach a special pleading license and turn morality on its head just to validate our favourite God. We live in a temporal and evidential world, this is the only reality we know, look down and not up because our two feet are firmly planted in reality.

Faith as any form of higher knowledge is simple nonsense. Faith is belief with no evidence. That's the lowest form of knowledge. We have a word for it. It's called conjecture.

There is no higher knowledge called faith. If you have knowledge faith isn't needed, because knowledge is based on facts and faith is based on beliefs.

Such a sweet man, but so terribly unbiblical. Blasphemous even. 😩 I wish this sweet man would read the Bible to understand the mistake in his thinking. Nothing but love to him.

Maybe a gentle suggestion for you if you would accept? Don't listen to the brains ego telling you it is irritating, instead ignore the brains tortures voices about annoyance and still listen to the message? Just a suggestion though, maybe it could help you listen?

I’m the same! They say it’s “unintentional asmr” but it’s totally intentional! I feel that at some point someone mentioned asmr so now he smacks his lips and tongue more than he normally would and the microphone is set to pick it all up!

Just curious: What about the people who get so much of suffering that they commit suicide?

He didn’t answer the first two questions. Why bad things happen to good people. He just rambled about consciousness.

Too much background noise. Should really make sure staff knows when he is recording a video, and stop all this background noise. It is very distracting and takes away from his messages.
