Best description I've ever seen of what makes a race bike. Great work! I'll be sharing this video to explain to others. And your final line... priceless summary.

I just took up cycling three years ago after knee surgery ended my marathon running career. A Specialized Roubaix in my size & price range was available at my local bike shop. It’s been a great, first road bike. A year ago I got a CruX that I ride mostly on gravel & as my bad weather bike; love it. A race bike is next. Lighter, faster, more responsive. Disc brakes too as with my CruX. Emonda, Tarmac, or SuperSix look like the best contenders; I’ll check out the TCR too.

Yeah brother, you're in deep. Love it. All four of those race bikes are top notch. If you stay disc, you'll def have more wheel swapping options. My recommendation would be to find the best fitter in your area, and find the race bike that fits you best. Sorry about your marathon running career. Very glad cycling is filling the void. -IG

Hello from West-Paris France. Bravo for this extremely clear review and fine « geometry live-animation which is cristal clear. I myself enjoy the snappy feeling of my supersix HM but have put a 0 degree stem for a slighty more upright position more friendly for my cervical vertebras. as a Cannondale fan for more than 25 yearling, I also enjoy riding my Slate and brand new F-Si 2019 Hi Mod on our varions tracks of the West Parisian country site. Congratulations for your excellent video. Manu Blanc

Possibly the best videos on the race vs endurance geometry topic I've seen! Thanks!

Finally! I was very doubtful about an endurance bike, thinking it is a compromise rather biased to my current XC seating, but I really don't have 100% asphalt tracks in my history, and assuming the road quality here in Russia, I have to go with an endurance or a gravel bike. Thanks

Would be great if you guys make a video on comparison of road bike sizing for endurance vs road bikes. I searched a lot on youtube and no such video exist.
@ingguidesmedia
@ingguidesmedia 4 жыл бұрын
Santosh Subudhi The idea is to choose the frame that fits you. If you ride a 54 in race bikes, then you ride a 54 endurance bike. But because the geometries are different, you’ll get a different ride feel.

@@ingguidesmedia Thanks for the quick response. I have Triban RC520 of size M (54), a gravel bike that I generally use for multiday tours. Though very comfortable, it doesn't give the smooth ride of a carbon bike. I am considering getting a Supersix Evo 105 2018 for faster shorter century rides, etc. Unfortunately, here in India, it is tough to get a test ride or sometimes even see the bike before ordering. So I am relying on the dimensions of the bike available online for taking a call on the size. On comparing the sizes of Triban and Supersix Evo, the size Small (52) of SSEVO is still more aggressive than M(54) of Triban. By aggressive, I refer to a shorter stack height (by 3 cm) with reach being approximately same. So my query is 'Is it Okay is I go for Size S of Supersix Evo' based on these two parameters. Your help on this will be appreciated. PS: I am not into racing, I am here just for smoothness of a ride.

One More additional info, I have ridden Merida Scultura 300 for a year of approximately the same dimensions as the Cannondale SSEVO size M(54), and did-not find the reach comfortable and ultimately had to swap the stem to the smallest possible. Even after that, it was just the right fit and I was not able to reach the drops. Based on this experience, I feel 52 is the right size for me even though size charts say I should go for 54. My height is 173 cm and inseam 79 cm.

Great video series. I'm still a little torn between the two - I just have to wait for the weather to get warm enough to test ride them both. Thanks again for the killer content.

Love my super six and even thought of getting it ready for 200km+ rides.... but you said, one bike is not enough - so I am thinking about the Synapse!
@ingguidesmedia

Lots to love there Mark. Super Six Evo is a wonderful ride. I was so impressed, I ended up buying the test bike you see in the video. The Synapse is a racy endurance bike. Disc brakes are nice when its raining. Jack

I bought my first road bike Synapse 105 Carbon recently. I just rode 120 miles yesterday. I love my bicycle but I am wondering how much Super Six Evo is faster than Synapse. I really love speed and splashing wind on my face.

I can appreciate that. DB's are superior stopping solution. You can get an Evo in disc if you prefer race geometry.

Just found this video! You did a great job explaining the differences between race and endurance bikes! Congrats! I do have a question regarding the front endurance geometry. Would a longer and lower stem give a more racier feel like the race bike? Thanks in advanve

I am planning to buy synapse alloy 105 ,comparing to trek domane and Scott speedster 10 which would have more upright position .being in India , can’t expect smooth roads ,hence my option was synapse.

Hi, is possibile to use a synapse for races? Is dificult keep a average over 40 km/h with this Bike ?
@ingguidesmedia
@ingguidesmedia 4 жыл бұрын
Jose Ruiz 40k solo is fast!!!! Sagan rode the synapse in the spring classics awhile back. If you want a faster feel play around w wheels and tires. The Synapse geometry is more stable, which means it maneuvers more slowly, but straight line velocity is not effected. It’s a great bike that was designed for stability and comfort. It will go as fast as you pedal it just like a race bike. I hope that helps. Thanks for the great comment. Jack

Thanks for video. What frame size Cannondale Synapse fit to 180 cm height: 54 or 56?
@sondergaardjan
@sondergaardjan 2 жыл бұрын
You should be comfortable with 56. I am 182cm and ride a 2010 Synapse in size 58, but would look at 56 in my next bike.
