You have no idea how crazy I was going, I had just built a new computer so I had to redownload all the mods and such, and nothing worked when I opened with skse, and turns out, the problem was that I had to copy the contents from the zipped files directly and NOT unzip the file. I had entirely forgotten that I was supposed to do that, so this helped me so much. Also, the fact that you are very clear and to the points with the steps helped a lot so future new modders will definitely love this!

Hi gamerpoets, it's been 2 years of my modding journey and you were the one who helped me getting started. Now I've got some cool combat mods, even heavily modded the graphic and got like 400 modlist and i really enjoy my gaming experience in skyrim. Now skyrim for me is like modding the game to my liking and play new content dlc from modders. It's been quite a journey from learning that MO2 is just better performance than vortex, installing SKSE, and I still remember when i was learning FNIS from you and now we got pandora engine behavior. Along with skse, there's also BETHINI which allows you to tweak the ini file without much trouble. Everyone playing skyrim or going to play should be familiar with this magical wand called BETHINI. Great video BTW 🎉

Man. No matter what I've been doing for SKSE for Vortex or MO2 and following numerous tutorials, it never seems to work for me. But I'm here watching this tutorial and reattempting. I have 1.6.1170.0 skyrim special edition steam version. And every time I run the game, skse is not detected. HOWEVER this is very likely my error considering I am mentally challenged. My disorders can make it difficult for me to do things correctly which is frustrating to me at times, but I don't give up, I try to do my best I can possible. I will just do a fresh reinstall and follow directions with your video, thank you for this anyhow. Very appreciative for anything helpful.

Make sure you are downloading this version "Current Anniversary Edition build 2.2.6 (game version 1.6.1170):" . Open the archive that you download. A folder will be there that says "skse64_2_02_06. Open that folder. Drag and drop everything inside that folder (Data/src/skse64_1_6_1170.dll, skse64_loader.exe) into the skyrim game folder. Once you do that MO2 and Vortex are suppose to auto detect it. Shut MO2 or Vortex down completely. Then reopen it.

Hey, great video, makes this stuff easy to understand. Unfortunately I'm still stuck. My game version is 1.6.1170.0, but it's the downgraded version of the GOG game. MO2 is auto detecting SKSE(for 1.6.1170.0, not GOG's 1179), which I dragged to my folder just like I saw in this video, but I'm not able to detect SKSE version, despite launching through SKSE perfectly fine. I also installed the game as per your instructions of the clean installation video. I'm really new to all this so I probably missed something small tbh

I'm a little asleep and may misunderstand. If you have 2 versions of skse on your pc (multiple game installs) go into mo2. Modify executables. Select skse and you'll see its file path. Change that path to the other skse install.

@@gamerpoets sorry I can be a bit wordy and get confusing lol. I only have the 1 skse version. The Binary is "C:\File\skse64_loader.exe" and it starts in "C:\File" which is also where SkyrimSE is located, along with the GOG setup/patch files. Arguments is blank

@@gamerpoets Turns out, apparently downgrading the GOG version of 1.6.1170 doesn't function with SKSE, so unless you already have offline backup files of an earlier version, you're stuck with 1.6.1179

Yeah im not sure what to do anymore. After deleting arthamoors annoying mod so i could have back some of the unnecessary changes he made, i went about deleting the small few mods i had that relied on it and for some reason proventus was hit with the vanilla bug that prevents him from selling breezhome. Never got the dialog for it. After trying consol commands and every possible fix i could find i decided to purge my mods, and do a fresh install of skyrim to see if that would fix it. Now every time i boot the game up, the rest of my mods work fine but skse, skyui, strange runes and ecotone dual sheath keep giving me an error. I have the most up to date version of skse but trying to launch the game from the exe loader keeps saying the skyrim executable isnt found. So now im effectively screwed on ever playing skyrim again.

Help, I keep getting an error when I run MO2 that says "A mod named overwrite was detected, disabled, and moved to the top priority on the mod list. You may want to rename this mod and re-enable it." However whenever I change the name I cant acces the actual overwrite folder. It says it cant find the overwrite file. What could this mean.

I've been having issues getting skse to work for version 1.5.97. Is that version of the game no longer playable? Skse seems to work fine when i use the current version '1.6.1170' or even when i downgrade to '1.6.1130', but as soon as i downgrade to 1.5.97 or 1.6.640 it doesn't work. I am making sure to use the right versions of skse with each version from their page so not sure what the issue is.
