Thanks for watching, I hope this video helps you get started on your Frostpunk 2 journey and that you have lots of fun! I covered all of the major gameplay systems in this video, but of course, the combinations of these systems can lead to some wildly unique situations in your playthrough, there's lots more to discover. By the way, I also have a Frostpunk 2 beginner's guide and review on my channel (links in description), be sure to check them out, cheers!

Thank you for making this video. I've played the first frostpunk so much that Endless on the hardest difficulty was my normal mode of play- to fail the tutorial on Citizen difficulty was -HUMBLING-.

Coming from Frostpunk 1, of which I've sunk likely hundreds of hours, this game seemed a bit daunting with all the new systems and game mechanics... I was feeling a pretty lost! But your guide really made sense of it all, and I feel ready to take on the brutal cold once again. Thanks for the excellent video!

Just started playing today. I'm now less overwhelmed with system unfamiliarity after watching this. Thanks for the guide.

I spent roughly 4 hours on the intro wanderer mission. Struggling to barely survive such a cruel and- "Tighten your belts lads" *Food solved, population unhappy* "Here's some metal btw" *Hope rises* ... It's so f**** easy apparently.

Thank you for the video I have been having medical issues with fatigue and migraines and processing from long COVID that often get worse when I try to game and your video helped me to figure out how to make it easier on myself with this game. Also your way of explaining was really nice and didn’t make me feel bad about needing it explained like some other videos do.

Thank you, this covered some things I had no clue about. I was wondering why my production was so low now you explained it! I just wish you went more into the tech tree I am having a hard time grasping what the heck I should go for. I REALLY wanted to know how to increase the guards always getting complaints on that. XD! anyways thanks for the post. Now I need to find someone to explain the tech tree. lol
@xaesirx8112Ай бұрын
The guards can be increased by building watchtowers in housing districts, or you could also build prisons. The tech tree is honestly daunting as certain techs can only be researched once you've made progression with factions, provided you've made good relationships with them. I'm honestly always stuck at tier 3 techs, because a lot of them can only be accessed by at least having bad or sometimes hostile relationships with certain factions/communities as you favor another. My biggest problems are protests, as they stop production and may worsen relationships f you fail to negotiate with them, which in turn does affect your tech tree progression. I honestly think factions are the hardest thing to manage in this game.

Excelent intro guide. Especially with the tutorial being a bit confusing. A few advanced early game tips: Frostbreaking in a long line is risky because youre locked to one side when expanding. Don't extend districts just for the bonus income. Withoit a building, its just wasted investment. Dont hoard workforce, heatstamps, prefabs and frostland teams. And also try to keep council and research always active. Inaction now will snowball. Get the most out of every decision. If you plan to build or research somthing, try and promise it to a faction first. The extreme laws and techs are double edged swords. They make things a lot easier, but you get locked out of "good" endings. Dont get too attached to any law or faction. Sometimes you have to pivot wildly to survive. Beware of anything that is "per capita". That can scale wildly as the city grows. Dont leave a council vote to chance. Trust me, you can even fail the first one to stay in power. And dont instantly reload or restart when you hit a doom spiral. Theres some good events to enjoy and maybe RNG saves you. But its also important to figure out what could have prevented the outcome.
@TheTempest732 ай бұрын
Interesting... I just found out that whatever you described that token from the prologue is, then that would be one of your initial faction in the second part.

soooo, if you build a extract district over One resource icon , but build a new extract over the other, then does it extract faster? instead of building one extraction over more spots ?
@deltaeternum92702 ай бұрын
This is great - I'm stuck on the 'construct or upgrade settlements to have a significant population there'. I send people from my main city to my colony but it isn't increasing the number needed, not sure what I need to do
@poplovegaming2 ай бұрын
People take time to travel, it shows up as an icon on the weather radar. Have you let the game run since transferring or do you stay paused? Also, the UI can be confusing sometimes, is it possible you transferred the wrong way? (Even I've done this lmao)

i like the vibe of the game its style is good. even though i wish they added at least some aspect of Frost punk 1 into 2. AND the Official channel guide for this game from 11 bit, said there was Pollution to consider if you put districts together But they didnt explain how that was measured in game with a Stat numbers or visual states ? ? ?

would it be better, for example, to build another housing district or expand existing housing districts?
@poplovegaming2 ай бұрын
@@421sup you'll need to do both, expanding won't cover growing population so much, and you'll want to put buildings in them (expansion required there for housing).

Does anyone know how I can cancel a construction?
@poplovegaming2 ай бұрын
Weirdly enough I never even tried to cancel something, not sure that it's possible. But once you build it you can destroy it to get back the cost. Just click on the district and there should be an icon for it or for a building in it.
@Ricardo_Rick2 ай бұрын
Can't you just get rid of a faction? i mean, if they are not very good and keeps interfering why not just let them dwindle until they vanish?

i just cant find the coal or oil in time in that second story mission. i will start my 6th try today. this is very frustrating because at this point i dont really know what to do differently
@poplovegaming2 ай бұрын
I haven't played the story more than once but I think the location stays the same and you might just keep missing it because it's "obvious." Spoiler for the location is coming up, stop reading here if you don't want it. Location of oil: explore to the left of your city, the prologue colony is right beside it, super close, and there's more oil a little under it as well I think.

Thanks, but right now, there are many issues that are preventing the game from being playable for me. The top issue is the resolution adjustment that is locked in Window mode! I have an Ultra Wide Monitor and play many games that require onscreen navigation and selection in a Windowed 2560x1440 mode, and that option is not there! So now my only option is to play in 5120x1440, which is beyond tedious. I played FP1 with no problem in 2560x1440. Right now, the game is not playable for me, and there are other bugs. I should have waited and once again kicking myself for getting a game when it releases. The Escape key does not work for me to move back!
@narutouzamaki65062 ай бұрын
I had the exact same issue but solved it by downloading "windowed Borderless Gaming", its a small program that sits in your task bar and you get set the game to 2560 by 1440 (centered on the 5129x11440 display). It works great.
@petersonfamily62232 ай бұрын
@@narutouzamaki6506 Thanks. I have this program and haven't had to use it for some time, and I will try it. That said, Frostpunk 2 has to have more Window resolution options than just 1280 x 720. The Window resolution options in Frostpunk 1 work perfectly. I had to reacquaint myself how to use "windowed Borderless Gaming," but I got it to work perfectly. Awesome, thanks so much for your input.

It should be in your building list unless you're in the story prologue, then you slot it into your housing district (needs to be expanded).

@jakkrit69102 ай бұрын
Goods in this game is not like something expensive. it's just a pair of sock/boots heatlamp or just a blanket. also when you frostbreak try not to leave one or two block stranded. because if you want to clear it later you need to spend the full price of 8 block to clear just one or two block.
@easycake3251Ай бұрын
Imo they over-complicated it. The first game was not even a fraction as complex as this one. And A LOT of things happen very fast out of nowhere (How it looks when you are new). The sheer amount of information is overwhelming and pushes you to say "f'it" and turn the game off.
