Jon, you forgot Thors stepson Ullr! And something almost everyone forgets is that Magne and Mode (Swedish names) are demigods. Which means that they inherited different divine traits from their dad. Magne inherited Thors strength and Mode got his bravery, which is fitting since “Mod” is Swedish for bravery. Thrudr or Trud is more mysterious, I’ve heard her being called “Trud the Mighty”, Magne is called “Magne the Strong” and Mode is “Mode the brave”.

Funny thing is, in the original old Norse story, Óðinn gets pissed at Þórr for giving the horse, Gullfaxi, to Magni. He's primarily mad because it was the finest horse in the realm next to his own, Sleipnir. Óðinn also gets mad because Magni(who supposedly is only 3 days old when he lifted the Jǫtunn) is the son of a Jǫtunn. Kind of crazy when you know their family tree.

Everybody's favorite, DBZ has some very messed up origins of the dragon balls with them originating from a story of someone who boinked or got boinked by a dog. I can't recall all the details of it, but it has something to do with the dog being killed or hurt, and the running off into the sky leaving behind 9 mystical pearls. This is the actual reason why there's 7 dragon balls, changed from 9 to seven to try and cover up the creep myth connection...

I have no doubt Love will become a member of The Young Avengers when she's old and experienced enough. I bet Marvel Thor would be horrified and disgusted of his God of War counterpart. He'd probably see him as a dark reflection of what could have been if Odin never banished him to Midgard to teach him humility and humanity and humbleness or never becoming a hero and an Avenger. And seeing his God of War counterpart as living proof of Gorr the God Butcher's belief that all Gods are vein and selfish beings who care for no one but themselves. Hell in Marvel Comics, the Original Nick Fury whispered that Gorr is right in Thor's ear and that made the Asier/Asgardian God of Thunder become unworthy of Mjölnir and made all other gods who try to pick it up unworthy. Which lead to the legendary hammer being wielded by Jane Foster in becoming Lady Thor.

I just would like to point out that the eda's were written during the times of Catholicism and as such have their interpretation of it. In saying that a giant misconception is that thor is Odin's son when in fact thor is odins father. The evidence of this, is norse beliefs are based on Germanic beliefs and has been discovered by archaeologist that woden/wotan was the son of thor. The info is harder to find due to the popularity of the modern literature but amongst archaeologist they have found evidence that says otherwise
@truekurayami2 жыл бұрын
Nordic vs. Germanic vs. Celtic interpretations are sketchy in nature due to the intermingling of the cultures without solid records and how mythology evolves over time. It used to be at one point Thor was seen as the highest Aesir in Norse Myth instead of Odin due to dominion and character archetype but after the Nordic tribes started becoming more Kingdoms Odin took the lead as he was more in line of a King archetype compared to Thor's Warrior. Even Greek Myths have similar issues as Persephone actually predates her uncle/husband Hades as Queen of the Underworld sense there are records we have found with only Zeus and Poseidon as the sons of Chronos and Poseidon playing a lot of Hades role alongside what we know him played with the 3 sons of Chronos. or Eros being represented as the original creator Chaos, or as the son of Aphrodite and embodiment of one of the seven forms of Love in Greek Myths.
