What's driving the inflammatory response? Food-like substances, high sugar, high LA, chronic stress, nutritional deficiencies, etc.

I suffered major depression from 2013 to 2019. I went through venlaxaxine, amitripptyline, buproprion, mirtazipine, a couple other meds, and many therapy sessions. The only one that even helped slightly was venlafaxine. I weaned off venlafaxine 3 weeks after starting microdosing of psilocybin. It was a miracle.

SSRIs and SNRIs (like those you listed) must be avoided during use of the mushroom. It can cause serotonin syndrome by releasing way too much and it gets trapped. Use only after a few weeks once you stop SNRIs / SSRIs.

Mental health doesn't get addressed enough in people with MS, even though depression and anxiety is so incredibly prevalent in this population. It's like no one thinks "hey if there are inflammatory changes happening in the brain that affect physical and cognitive abilities, can't they also drive mental health dysfunction as well"? ☹️

Benadryl actually helped my brain fog/depression and I felt that was related to inflammation. Not sure if this could help anyone but 3 Benadryl at night allowed me to wake up clear headed in the morning which previously waking up foggy was a huge factor to my depression 🤷♀️💯 if anyone else tries this and it works for them let me know!!!

I have struggled with depression since my 20's. I guess im one of the lucky 30% that found an antidepressant, Citalaphram, that works ok. I have friends who are still struggling with the terrifying depths of despair from depression. So do i periodically. Im wondering if Dr. Lindon has ever experienced it? Sure doesnt seem like it to me. Btw Im 72 now. My meds keep my head "just above water," most of the time. Settled on Celexa/Citalaphram 20 years ago, never miss a day. Plus it doesn't make me feel dead emotioally like all the other ones did. Maybe you are making progress, but not a whole lot. Yet. Hopefully, the silicybin studies will make better headway in the future.

How are people supposed to excercise when they have extreme fatigue, muscle tension, exhaustion from depression/anxiety?

I got back into fitness a few months ago and have really struggled with the fatigue and muscle tension aspect of depression/anxiety, I initially started by giving my self a little boost with caffeine to help combat the fatigue and then I started following a workout plan that I worked on before I had a little hiatus from fitness. After my workout and hitting the sauna I would feel a lot better mentally, my head became quiet and I felt much happier, the sauna really helps with muscle tension as well, now I look forward to getting that same feeling after a workout as an escape from depression/anxiety, so no matter how shitty I feel during my day I still have at least one thing I can look forward too at the end of it. Also setting goals helped me a lot too, after achieving small goals I felt more and more motivated towards more difficult goals which also helped me in my consistency. It's always important to set goals for what you want to achieve. Start small and let your body adjust.

I suffered every couple of months from depression from ages 7 to 30. Looking back on it I blame it on negative thinking. When I was close to the age of 30, I read the book Meditation for Dummies. I practiced mantra meditation and would spend 45 minutes, five days a week for 18 months repeating a positive mantra in my mind. While meditating anytime my mind wandered to something else I would bring my mind back to repeating the mantra. I would write out my negative thoughts and come up with a new positive mantra contradicting negative thoughts every week. My thinking actually became more positive and I became happier. Also the book Meditation for Dummies states that feelings are not evil. The book recommends feeling feelings like anger, jealousy and fear until they go away. I was so afraid to feel these feelings due to my Christian upbringing that it was a relief to feel these feelings without the guilt trip. The book emphasized that I can feel these feelings without acting on them. Having more positive thoughts due to mantra meditation and no longer condemning myself for my feelings helped me feel happier than I had ever felt before. For the past 20 years I have rarely felt depressed and when I did it wasn't as bad as it was before I found the book Meditation for Dummies and started implementing it's teachings in my life.

@@ProgressWithChristina its much more serious - most people want to come off them because they are emotionally blunted, unable to feel.
