I saw both Oppenheimer and Barbie a while back. Both films were unique and honestly seemed amazing. Oppenheimer was great for history nerds like myself. It respected the heavy source material and honestly I loved it. My only complaint is that I felt it could have been 15 or 20 minutes shorter. Barbie was also amazing. It was beautiful and hilarious. I watched it in a packed theatre and every joke landed. It was also an experience akin to Spiderman No Way Home. During Ken's final monologue and his musical number guys there with their gfs started chanting "He's literally me" and "I'm just ken". Honestly the movie said so much yet simply enough to still be seen as a comedy. I loved it. But that's just it. Most cinema attendees only see 2 or 3 films a year. For most folk those 3 films were Guardians of the Galaxy, Barbie and Oppenheimer.

It's a shame Transformers isnt doing well, cause Bumblebee finally brought the series back into a good direction again. One where the Transformers are the main focus, getting more screentime and are given actual character development. Alot of people underestimate the amount of rich and compelling stories you can tell with Transformers. It's just that the movies rarely dig beyond the surface. The next movie is a prequel set on Cybertron, explaining the events leading to the war and they cannot play it safe with that storyline. Because that storyline is FILLED with themes of systematic oppression, corruption and often times genuine horror and brutality.

God I hope the new Dungeons and Dragons movie did well. I completely wrote it the fuck off when I saw the trailer and I'm willing to bet a ton of people did the same thing, but it turned out to be not only what a DnD movie should be in regards to building its world and tone in the same way that most friends around the table do; but turned out to be a shockingly well made movie as well. Great acting. Inventive scenes. Fun dialogue with likable characters. An actual character arc. Excellent action that isn't cutting the camera every picosecond. Way more practical effects than I anticipated, too. When the paladin sliced his attacker's neck and some absolute chad of a stunt man took an actual fall down the rocks, it felt like I was watching an actual movie again.

I think if it wasn't for Transfomers 5 and the Bumblebee movie bombing at the box office I think ROTB would have been directed by Bay or the studio would have let Steven caple Jr take more risks...I and one of the few people that actually like the direction that the Transformers franchise is going in away from the last 2 Michael Bay Transformers movies, but I think if they still make that Transformers GI Joe crossover it's going to bomb harder then Oppenheimer's actral bomb because not even transformers fan's like myself want to see Gi joe with Transformers

So glad you made this video. These were EXACTLY my thoughts. Every single movie with a HUGE budget and mediocre reviews has performed badly because no one cares to see it. Every movie with a lower budget and amazing reviews performs much better. There are obvious exceptions of course, like Avatar 2 somehow making all that money, but it seems like movie companies are going to need to try harder and make better films/decrease their budgets. For example, Elemental had the whopping $200million budget, whereas SPIDERVERSE had a $100 million budget, Puss in Boots had a $90 million budget, The Bad Guys had a $80 million budget, so it's way easier for them to be successful. The Bad Guys only made $250 million but was still a success. These studios keep putting out these mediocre movies with $250 million plus budgets that barely break even, how? Make the movies better

This video feels like it's edited for a 0.0003 second attention span. It's all over the place the first half before it focuses and your point(s) are made clear. Basically, this video can be half as long, avoid meandering, be far more concise in less time, and express your point without hyper editing. I enjoy and agree with your point though. Time and money are precious and valuable. Don't waste them, especially on mid-ass entertainment.

12:02 Okay so about that. I was supposed to see barbie movie last weekend but nobody decided to actually make plans. I kept asking "hey are we seeing the move this weekend? Does saturday work? What time?!" And nobody answered. So the weekend came and went. One of them was like "oh next weekend! next weekend for sure!" But they still havent said anything. So I doubt ill ever get to see it until years later I see it on streaming. Which is sad, because I wanted to dress nice for once to see the movie. My dad, however, thinks it's stupid, and im not dragging my mom to see it, since I feel like she wouldnt want to either. Now, my dad. Just bought two movie tickets. to Indiana Jones. Im only really going because "eh its something to do, besides, at least hell like it." but I still would really like to see the barbie movie, no matter how bad people think it is

I encourage you to keep your head up. Barbie is a good movie. Definitely heavy handed on their message but I believe that’s the point. If Greta Gerwig and company view patriarchy as a heavy handed, in-your-face issue then why not make an equally heavy handed, in-your-face film? I did not expect the film to go as far as it did with it’s message but the story did end in a satisfying way for me. Barbie is a very well made and intentionally crafted film in my opinion and I don’t see it’s message as a reason to bash the film and all of it’s other amazing qualities. You’ll enjoy Barbie when you finally do get to see it. Personally though I liked Oppenheimer more

@@toneswing6I honestly thought barbies message was over the top, they could easily have made the message the same without demonizing men, men are treated as these perfect beings other than ken crying a bit, then it ends with some stupid payback sequence with the president, patriarchy is a issue, just not in the us to the extent it was portrayed in the movie, and especially in cali of all places. Like cmon, those guys who were creepy to barbie would be publicly executed, sadly Greta is to large of a coward to base this in a country where this stuff makes sense
