The traditional story is that in the year 711, an oppressed Christian chief, Julian, went to Musa ibn Nusair, the governor of North Africa, with a plea for help against the tyrannical Visigoth ruler of Spain, Roderick. Musa responded by sending the young general Tariq bin Ziyad with an army of 7000 troops.
@zyadd2604
@zyadd2604 Ай бұрын
No musa ibn nusair did not send tarek ibn ziyad .. tarek ibn ziyad acted on himself as he saw an opportunity to conquer since in spain was dealing with a conflict between rulers of spain .. after he succeeded in conquering south spain , musa ibn nusair(arab from based in syria) heard the news from his throne in damas and got mad jealous because his berber(the moor y’all talking about) general acted on himself and got all the army glorified him for his successful move .. when musa reached south spain he ordered to catch him and put chains on him and send him back to morocco and crossing all north africa in a caravan and got weakened by the long travel till he reached damascus and died there ; because berbers were treated as a secondary class in muslims ( which is haram in islam ) and they were taxes because of that and changed their berbers name to arabic ones. The army was 10 000 berbers and 700 arabs to teach them arabic and quran the rest is history…

Thank you for the work done to educate us. My question though is, what were blacks in the motherland doing before the Arab influence/enslavement/indoctrination/convergence? It is widely known that the Berbers were the conquering force in Spain but they were Arab trained. The images of blacks in this video are wearing traditional Arab garbs, except for a very few images. Arabs enslaved blacks for hundreds of years and converted a vast majority. So, what were blacks doing before the Arab dominance? The "Moors" were Arab influenced/ruled blacks. This video stated that Berbers and Arabs were trying to decide who were entitled to rule Spain, why would that be an issue if the Arabs didn't feel entitled? I love learning my black history but I disconnect often when I'm shown and told history that involves the heavily dominated Arab influence. What were blacks doing before the Arabs crossed over into the motherland from Asia? That is what I want to know and seek to learn. Again, I love the work done to educate us but this info is well documented already and I would like to see more information about my people's history prior to be dominated/influenced by Arabs. We didn't have Arab names and we didn't write in Arabic calligraphy. Where were we before them? These videos or talking points make it seem like ultimately we owe that part of history to Arabic influence. I'm sure we weren't concerned about a Caliphate before they came into the motherland and stole us.

@positiveenergybaby There are Arabs who are a “black” people as well. Great book called The Unknown Arabs goes into detail on the topic. There are many first hand accounts of Arabs arguing there validity to rule, lead a tribe etc based on the complexion of their skin being dark. Don’t shut down Arab history as it is heavily tied in with Africa and not because of slavery

Before the arabs influence there was the christian influence but wasn’t that imposing with locals beliefs because it was coming from their environment .. some of those beliefs are coming from ancient Egyptian deities and greeks as well ( under different names and some says it actually those beliefs came from africa since its the motherland logically the early humans believed in something before they start spreading and africa is a big continent as well dont forget that , so the word blacks ( the plural of black people ) fades away in africa because the moment you set foot in africa its mostly going to be which tribe you came from ? To pass that test you have three options you need to look for the people who looks like you or close to you , the mother tongue , or your tribe last name .. for example for the moors its AÏT and its spreaded from the tangier to mali .. for the clothing :black males in blue is actually african not arab its the tuareg Berbers known for their endurance and can navigate through the desert easily …

@@jbo4814I believe the umayyads themselves were dark skinned arabs who were phenotypically african. If you look at Yemen or Oman or even south arabia and see the people there they either look mixed or black phenotypically. You wouldn't really be able to tell them apart from the habesha people in Ethiopia and Eritrea. I certainly do believe that Africa and Arabia are more related in nature than we imagine. You also had the old Axumite empire of Ethiopia witch spread into Yemen.

They weren't Arab women . they were Imazighen [ Amazigh) women , and Moorish Imazighen women were free to take their rightful place in developing civilization.There are time where Moorish Moslems is confused with Arab Moslems. But make no mistake the conquest of the of Spain and Portugal was a Moorish conquest not an Arab conquest, so let's get that straight .

The Moors complied knowledge from Ancient Kemet, the indigenous Egyptians and pyramid builders. The Moors did NOT learn from Greeks. The Greeks studied at the feet of Ancient Kemetic scholars…architecture, mathematics. Philosophy, astronomy, astrology etc. Socrates, Plato and Pythagoras spent years in Kemet/Egypt then presented the knowledge as their own effectively erasing the Kemetic (Indigenous African) contribution. G. Jackson 1955, Stolen Legacy. Please correct the statement that the Moors Brought back knowledge from the Greeks. This vast knowledge was gleaned at the feet of Indigenous Egyptians or Kemetic scholars, sages, and savants. Otherwise, great video.

The majority of the Moors were NOT black, but racially brown or what some archaeologists refer to as Mediterranean from coastal Northwestern African Berber tribes, but also racially brown Arabs from the Levant & Arabian Peninsula. There were those that were black, from the interior of North Africa originating out of Mauritania during the Almoravid dynasty, and also those sold as slaves to coastal North Africa, the Iberian Peninsula, & the Italian kingdoms. They were often war captives sold by the West African empires of Mali & Songhay, as well as the Hausa city-states, but also the Central African empire of Kanem-Bornu. Some were even products of Berber slave raids. The male slaves often performed the roles of mercenary soldiers; this may be possibly why you see black soldiers representative of Moors. The women were concubines for the Berber & Arab elite households or domestic servants. In addition, the term began to be used more loosely over the ages referring to Muslims in Southern Europe during the Middle Ages. Sometimes Spanish or Portuguese converts to Islam were referred to as Moors, as well as the Slavic Saqaliba slave soldier population which existed in Spain & Portugal at the time. If the majority of the Moors were black, Europeans would not have sometimes used the term blackamoor referring to a black Moor. That is indicative they were something out of the ordinary. There would not have been a need to develop a separate word to distinguish them if they were in fact the most omnipresent among the Moorish population.

This had to be the reason the Eurocentric map is a 'longitude' flip of the original map. Moshe [Moses] did his schooling education in Egypt [just like my schooling is from little Egypt USA] and from where the Nile flowed was considered North. Therefore in 1458 BC when Moshe leader of the Hebrew Israelites was 68 years old, Pharaoh Thutmose III became the undisputed leader after Pharaoh Hatsheput died. The world maps was not Colonizeed by the Eurocentric Hellenistic view of shifting the map. Our first "Maps" wasn't until AD timeframe right? Egypt, summer, baylon was sophisticated enough to get the info from the fallen-angel-anunnaki-deities how to manipulate elements [stone] and not get a map??😂 we continue.
