Hi! How do you like the MAGNUM 3 from ADT in terms of sound and functionality compared to 5MT? Is there a difference? And compared to SSL - will the mix differ in depth or color? There were just so many discussions on the forums before. Thanks for the video!😀😉😊

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! The Magnum 3 might be the most in-depth analog system I have ever heard of! Compressor, Expander AND Gate in every channel, 5!! Band EQ with 4 fully parametric bands, full inline functionality, all the options for the center section? Super practical! I know ADT „insiede out“ pretty well now having serviced these consoles as well, but the the SSL - not so much experience from my side yet. Would love to do a summing video on one, too! But 5mt and Magnum should use the same components so just the Magnum having more tools is what can make your mix more sophisticated. The Raw signal path should be very much comparable if not identical! Hope that helps. All the best, Tobi

@ Hi! Yes I think with ADT you should be talking functionality, tho there are some differences in sound connected to it - having transformer options on Input and output stages for example! Hope that helps. All the best, Tobi

Meines Wissens war das nicht die Raab Konsole, die er in seinem Tonstudio genutzt hat. Erst letztes Jahr wurde die angebliche Raab Konsole von einem Berliner Tonstudio verkauft. Die in dem Video gezeigte Konsole war das jedenfalls nicht. Lässt sich auf verschiedenen Bildern im Vergleich auch gut nachvollziehen.

@@nausomehow Moin! Ich habe tatsächlich Kontakt zu dem Berliner Tontechniker der alle drei ADT Konsolen von Raab übernommen haben soll. Ich habe selber ein Video gesehen in dem Stefan sein Studio mit einer ADT der selben Baureihe zeigt - ob es unter den dreien tatsächlich diese ist lässt sich schwer nachvollziehen. Hoffe das hilft :) Mich würd jetzt natürlich brennend interessieren welche Konsole du gesehen hast, vielleicht kriegen wir das zusammen? Beste Grüße, Tobias

@@tobitweaks Die Raab-Konsole war eine 5MT-S.. zumindest die in seinem Privatstudio.. die genaue Konfiguration kenne ich nicht. Aber es gibt 1-2 Bilder bei TAS Solingen! Aber kein 5MT Broadcast wie hier :).

I have my eye on it since it pop up., but unfortunatly i would need two more years to get it, because i don´t have where to store it. The studio its still on the project stage. Never, ever in my life i would trade this for an harrison, not even a 32C, or a new one. Clean desk, colorfull outboard gear, that´s my way.

Consoles are obsolete and waste of money. If you want hands on control use motorized faders.

Hi! Thanks for your input :) Yes Computers and Plugins are capable of doing almost everything now, but I have yet to find a motorized fader solution that works flawlessly with all DAWs and have either got the cannel switching right (mackie control is a pain) or have a sufficient amount of faders! Plus these consoles just sound beautiful, so why not? Hope that helps! All the best, Tobi

​@@tobitweaks I not gonna lie consoles are cool, but in reality they don't save time or sound that impressive, even high end ones. Better solution is studio desk with outboard space for racks. Besides softube control 1 mk2 is very cool. Did you try that?

@ Hmm okay interesting, don‘t know what consoles you used before but I do work with consoles in my daily mixing process and while setup does take its time once it‘s setup you are soo much faster! Also you get tons of coloration and dynamic processing that you would need two or three additional plugins per track for. But that is just my workflow :) Yes I had a console 1 and sold it - too complicated and never really worked. The idea of switching between tracks on the unit was cool but never really worked, once you duplicated a track in your session for additional processing everything fell apart. Also it still used the Mackie control protocol for it - the automatic assign works only in banks of 8!! Hope that helps. All the best, Tobi
