half the fun is not knowing exactly what you are up against to you have to work with what you have and adapt to the circumstances, it wouldnt be fun if you brough the perfect loadout every time to make every mission as easy as posible

@@rekcity7444 I disagree. It feels garbage to bring light-pen to bile missions, chaff clear for heavy charger/titan seeds, anti-tank loadouts for hunter seeds. Of course if you’re in a team everyone is hopefully making sure all sides are covered but it simply doesn’t happen every mission especially when solo-queuing. It’s so boring to bring a generalist loadout everytime because you need to be ready for anything lest you want to suffer the whole mission.

It does tell you when you select missions bile skewers dont show up till 2 or 3 chargers in 4's titans in 5 plus all others and spewers will shoot artillery. 8 and up you get special heavies n stuff

Presenting this in a little pop in modifiers section would do some much to increase weapon variety. Light penetration weapons would see an increase in use if you knew there would less armored enemies.

Definitely. And a lot of underused stratagems would be more viable too. Something like the Airburst Launcher becomes way more viable if you know you won't be facing a majority of enemies that are basically immune to it. Anti-tank mines can be at least usable, if you know you'll be facing heavier enemies without too much chaff. Mortars may not be suicide on bugs, if you're facing hive guards/bile spewers rather than the jumping bugs.

@@BackwardsPancakeChargers & Hulks are a bit tricky to dispose of with the Airburst, but if you detonate it underneath them, it's a oneshot (Chargers butts go boom as well as the heatsink of Hulks). I haven't found the right spot for Impalers and Bile Titans don't care about firecrackers in their mouth. It's such a fun weapon, but I have to carry around an orbital railcannon strike for consistency. :(

Knowing what kind of bugs we can expect more of would actually increase loadout diversity by a ton. What I dislike about the game is the fact that on higher difficulties, the whole thing becomes a loadout check, instead of a skill check, so everyone becomes a jack-of-all-trades, unless you want to feel miserable for 40 minutes.

@@TotPocket I only run hmg and supply pack Usually use a 500 kg bcuz boom 4th strat could be anything depending on how you’re feeling like playing.. I often run hmg emplacement.. airstrike.. auto cannon turret.. recently started running gas strikes This build tends to get me the most kills on any mission and requires a lot of aggression and covering your less bullet friendly teammates… if the enemy is looking at you you’re doing your job right!

(seems to be their catchphrase), but really it will just allow more weapons to be viable against certain constellations They could then vary the constellations and not tie it into the mission types The other thing they could THEN do, is have that as a mission modifier "unknown enemy types", where we WOULD have to loadout for anything

You could meta-optimize based on the mission type, or you could just not bother and build every loadout to cover all your bases (Answer to rushdown enemies, answer to medium armor, optimal answer to heavies, optimal objective/side objective clear per faction). And since the crossbow does at least something in all those categories...

I need to just tell us prior to launching the mission, this would encourage diversity in class loadouts greatly, Like Bile Spews I like to bring AMR or Grenade Launcher, and then Hunters light armor penetration weapons such as stalwart or incendiary breaker. Same goes for Bots, such as Heavy Devastators with their Shields are so annoying to hit, so Purifier has a good stagger with its explosion so it'll hit them behind their shields, Autocannon is also a good choice for them.

If there’s nothing to make content on, maybe come up with good team composition load outs, speed run tutorials for each mission type, or fun team composition load outs (similarly to the struppwaffle or whatever that one tactic was called)

I think an idea is that information like this should be normally provided to the player, but an operation modifier should disable it. Like how we can normally see the general location of enemy outposts on the map, unless we rolled the operation modifier that obscures the map.

Bile Bug constellation is why I like running the Gun Rover these days. Yeah, it has to reload, but man, it can take down patrols quickly and is slightly less likely to kill teammates.

AH needs to make one of the future ship module upgrades show the constellations you'll encounter- that would assist in weapon balance as you wouldn't need to bring a generalist loadout to every mission but instead could vary depending on enemy type (for example the slugger is good against bile bugs but terrible when they arent present)

It's interesting to finally know the phenomenon is actually called when i drop into a mission that is "oops all hunters". However the further information that a lot of missions have wildly divergent enemy types, like oops all big guys or oops all small guys in the same mission, coupled with not knowing what subgroup of enemies is going to be the opfor before landing in a mission, I overall find my mission planning to be unchanged. A one size fits all loadout for bugs and a one size fits all loadout for bots. Or a one size fits all loadout for both factions (such as crossbow/HMG giving you the means to kill all AP4 or less non-heavy enemies, crossbow giving you nest destroying capability and other supports can fill the gap against the real heavy units like Striders, Titans, Chargers and Tanks.) If you knew that a mission was most definitely going to be oops all hunters and heavy units were going to be almost a non factor then you could go balls deep on horde clear weapons and supports, reserving only one or two support slots for a heavy killer like the OPS. As you don't know this beforehand, generalist loadouts that have contingencies against the spectrum of enemies is preferable. Even if you play with friends, generalist loadouts allow you to pull your own weight instead of being caught with your pants down because your friend with the RR and all the airstrikes is on the other side of map, dead or otherwise unable to intervene and all you have is a Cookout and crowd control supports like gas and EMS that was meant to help set up the now nonexistent one-two killing strike of you and your friend.

arc thrower is such a good crow control in any constellation, it can stun almost every heavy and kill small enemy in 1-2 shot, I try to change my load out just to find myseft bring arc thrower out again and again :))

Good info, thank you. Bit bummed out by it though. :( I had noticed the different enemy force deployment, but assumed it was planet based (not planet type - actual planet!) or in some other more varied logic, at the very least consistent throughout an operation. I guess it makes some sense for balancing that the constellations are linked to mission types, but it feels a bit underwhelming. I had hoped for some more personality. Whole planets getting a reputation in the community because of their unique and/or difficult enemy types. Malevelon Creek, but this time it's "oh my god all Bile Titans" hell. Weapon meta shifting depending on where you deploy, linking the myth of the planet to the tales of specific weapons. "I learned to love my MMG back on Vernen Wells."
