Union agreements which have stipulations about extracts and repeats so in order to use a significant amount you have to pay .

T Really wonderful singing, equally great in it's own measure to the actual merits of the compositions.

The conversation about the minotaur is deeply fascinating. I would like though to hear more comments by some women - especially women composers as well as the three men. The minotaur is a beast on many important levels but he is also an abused and emotionally neglected child. He is shut up in the maze because he is deeply embarrassing.

It does feel very much like Schoenberg....the voicing of the music, and it's great, but there is a hesitation there for me, it goes down in it's tonal or atonal sonic attitude. This seems to be the thing in what I've listened to of Birtwistles work......non the less powerful stuff.
