As long as he is not an criminal, his personal life is none of our business. He can be a cheater, but if his cooking skills are top notch and maintains his restaurants completely healthy and legally, everything is good.

I'm Asian, albeit born & raised in North America, but there's always this unhealthy competition where everyone is literally ranked & if you're not at the top you're basically a lost cause w/ no redeeming qualities. Total BS. It's very toxic & creates an unhealthy environment full of jealousy & projection, where ppl will pounce on any mistake just so they feel better about themselves...

Honestly this stuff is not that controversial. People who are extremists in their work tend to have very complex and chaotic personal lives. I think the only thing that could be controversial is if he got the initial job by giving gifts and did not have the skills necessary.

I agree, and it still wouldn't matter imo since his skills were so unanimously acknowledged by all the chefs and judges on the show. Even not everyone in fine dining can be that good unless they have real skill.

What’s the “scandal” here? The media is so keen on creating drama and netizens are so quick to judge (the latter is so typical for Korean fan culture, sadly). Is your own life without fault? Honestly! He’s clearly a talented chef. I hope his career as a chef continues to gain success.

Well, Dispatch wouldn’t even bother if he wasn’t part of the show and one of the most popular as well. You know, it’s kinda becoming a pattern already in South Korea. When someone becomes successful or achieve fame, they happen to always have some scandal or exposé. Though it is not a good thing, divorce and cheating happen. What’s controversial about that?

News articles such as this one only perpetuates the general notion that the Korean people can be such utter HYPOCRITES when it comes to admiring their local celebrities. After his appearance on the Netflix series Culinary Class Wars, Kang Seungwon (Triple Star) became more popular and respected by people because of his skills as a chef and not because of his private affairs. The Korean audience and fans should learn to distinguish between the public and private personas of their idols. Every person, famous or otherwise, keeps at least one skeleton in his/her closet so no one is really in a righteous position to pass judgment on another person.

He was voted by 11 outstanding chefs out of 15 because they were so impressed by his skills and potential. People who go around saying it is impossible for a fresh graduate to work at a Michelin starred restaurant should take a seat back. It is unusual for others, maybe. But i doubt it is the case for someone who won the votes by a landslide. They way i see it the relationship they had was toxic and the woman had a savior complex. She bribed her connections bc she didn’t believe in his skills. She funded the restaurant but when things don’t go her way, she pointed finger and saying its embezzlement. When he had another girl, it is cheating. But when she had another man, he is the abuser. She just wants everything to fit her narrative.

It really is unfair that his exes can “expose” him with a his so called dirty laundry to try and ruin a good moment for him, maybe that’s why they are exes. It’s wrong what they are doing, move on with your life, he is clearly moving on with his. So unfortunate, I hope it doesn’t ruin his career or restaurant because of a disgruntled ex girlfriend and ex wife

well people can make mistakes but the part about the girl who gave him $100,000 to his new restaurant then he ghosted her and married someone else is a bit questionable. so if money is involved, he should pay the money back and be honest about that at least... instead of cutting off someone after receiving money, you know?

There is always two side on a story! We don’t know exactly if all allegations are true, we don’t know what was going on in their relationship so I am not quick to judge anyone. And if these “controversies” were true so what? He cheated? Maybe. These things happen every day, is just important to take a lesson from it and reflect on his actions! I really hate that korean culture is so quick to judge. As long as he was not rapist or killer etc.!

gotta admit his cooking skills are good and just cause of his personal life, his cooking skills shouldn't be undermine. But threatening and cheating someone is sooo wrong here, people in comment section here defending his behaviour are equally sick and disgusting. Cheating is traumatic for a lot of people, get some right values from your parents please.

Geez.. pretty vindictive by the ex. She's obviously envious about his recent success and fame. Feels like what Kim Seon-Ho went thru right after Hometown Chax3. Triple Star's proficiency as a chef (which is clearly undeniable) has nothing to do with his private life. I dunno about his fans but I admire his skills.. I'm not looking to date him 😂.

i just feel that which ever way he got into that Michelin Star restaurant when if he is not good even just a day he will get be fired, it means that he works there for years & got like "pirated" by another Michelin Star in Korea, it says it all that his a good Chef! & i'm just wondering why the "ex wife" just say those "accusations" just now when his already famous?

lmao not the comments in defense of him. i swear everyone goes weak in front of handsome men. imagine it was a dude with a resting b face - people would be like "omg i knew there was something wrong with him since the start" this dude bribed his way him and gave his ex years worth of trauma. some of those letters are just "wtf" inducing. people are downplaying this situation too much (when women in korea are already going through similar things without not much people on there side). ofc no one should care about personal lives but BE FR. he is a celeb chef now, so all interests would be onto him, including his personal life. you can choose not to engage in it, but that doesn't mean his lifestyle is something that everyone should praise him over or not care about.

His food and talent is separate from his personal love life women we need to stop blaming all our unhappiness and crazy on a man we have the option to leave relationship's we have the option to not answer the phone. To not go on dates to not double back pay attention to red flags men are still learning as are woman in your younger years about wants desires love sex ect.. ladies, move on if you're still bothered. I dont think its such a big deal, as most of the general population is like that, but tbh, I think those girls who said things about him couldn't handle their hatred and jealousy and decided to ruin his life.. divorces happen breakup happens, this is life! As long as he is doing his job and not doing any criminal activity on his part, I dont think these scandals are such a big deal

? i dont get knetz thought of process. people talk good about him because of his skills, he's a chef not an idol/celebrity. yeah he has relationship issues but does it lead to criminal offenses? if yes and he needs to be behind the bars, then sure. but if not, what does it have to do with his skills? with his restaurant business? do you think the owner of the products you purchase lives a honest life throughout their life? what about your phone? your cars? your bags? did you think the owner/designer don't have personal issues? did you stop buying because of it? huh.
