Totoy Bibo Who will go to heaven? People have different ideas about heaven. Many have no understanding of God at all, but still like to think of heaven as the "better place" where we all go when we die. Ideas about heaven are often no more than vague hopes, on par with "maybe I'll win the lottery some day." Most people don't give heaven much thought until they attend a funeral or a loved one dies. It is popular to refer to heaven as the place where "the good people go." And of course, everyone they know and love is included in the category of "good people." But the Bible has a lot to say about life after death, and it contradicts popular opinion. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Then in verse 36, Jesus goes on to say, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." Hebrews 9:27 says, "It is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment." According to these verses, everyone dies, but not everyone goes to heaven (Matthew 25:46; Romans 6:23; Luke 12:5; Mark 9:43). God is holy and perfect. Heaven, His dwelling place, is holy and perfect, too (Psalm 68:5; Nehemiah 1:5; Revelation 11:19). According to Romans 3:10, "there is none righteous, no not one." No human being is holy and perfect enough for heaven. The people we call "good" are not good at all compared to the sinless perfection of God. If God allowed sinful humans to enter the perfection of heaven, it would no longer be perfect. What standard should be used to determine who is "good enough?" God's standard is the only one that counts, and He has already ruled. Romans 3:23 says that "all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory." And the payment for that sin is eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). Sin has to be punished, or God is not just (2 Thessalonians 1:6). The judgment we face at death is simply God bringing our accounts up to date and passing sentence on our crimes against Him. We have no way to make our wrongs right. Our good does not outweigh our bad. One sin ruins perfection, just as one drop of arsenic in a glass of water poisons the whole glass. So God became man and took our punishment upon Himself. Jesus was God in the flesh. He lived a sinless life of obedience to His Father (Hebrews 4:15). He had no sin, yet at the cross He took our sin and made it His own. Once He paid the price for our sin, we could be declared holy and perfect (2 Corinthians 5:21). When we confess our sin to Him and ask His forgiveness, He stamps "Paid in Full" over our life of selfishness, lust, and greed (Acts 2:38; 3:19; 1 Peter 3:18). When we stand before God one day, we cannot beg entrance to heaven based on our own merit. We have none to offer. Compared to God's standard of holiness, not one of us is good enough. But Jesus is, and it is by His merit we can enter heaven. First Corinthians 6:9-11 says, "Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." The sacrifice of Jesus covers it all. The people who go to heaven are all alike in one way: they are sinners who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9). They have recognized their need for a Savior and humbly accepted God's offer of forgiveness. They have repented of their old ways of living and set their course to follow Christ (Mark 8:34; John 15:14). They have not attempted to earn God's forgiveness but have served him gladly from grateful hearts (Psalm 100:2). The kind of faith that saves a soul is one that transforms a life (James 2:26; 1 John 3:9-10) and rests fully on the grace of God.

So many FLAWS in the polygamy arguments shown: - If jealousy is the way to heaven, why not make it a guaranteed trip and watch the husband have sexual intercourse with another wife? It will surely fire up some jealousy. - Men also feel jealousy - they should be allowed to enter heaven too! They need to let their wives have multiple husbands so nobody is denied of this jealousy. - How does having more wives curb lust? if you cannot put your penis in just one vagina, what makes you think you would stop at 4? Or are you gonna marry all the women you want to have sex with? - How is it fair to a wife since the family's disposable income would be reduced with a new wife that requires a house of her own too? What if another wife has more kids? Is it a race to bear children for more allowance? I can see the argument that as long the two persons are in love (and the other wife accepts it), who are we to stop them. But how do we define *acceptance*? Conditioning to normalize their disgruntled feelings is not acceptance. And such conditioning is exactly what cults do.

Saying "Men are Polygamous by Nature" is against Islam..? Why do almost all Scholars claim that men are polygamous by nature with no Islamic claim? This makes men think it's okay to open doors and feel for multiple women, when in the west, where everyone is treated "equally" women are equally polygamous, cheating on their husbands, for "fun" not for "love or emotional" reasons as many put it. This means that both sexes are vulnerable in the same way. I think the society allows men to behave this way or think this way, because it's a male dominated world, and they supressed women since the beginning of time, when in the end, both men and women are the same, committing the same sins. However, the world makes it okay for men to be this way, claiming its their nature. Ever wonder why Muslim parents will abandon their daughters forever if they caught them speaking to a guy but will not do anything if their son goes out and sleeps around with women? Why is that? In the Shariah, both is a sin, both are haram! True women may be of more fitnah towards men, because women have more awrah to cover, yet they fail to, but most men are naturally in hijab, hence the reason for lesser fitnah for women. The Polygamy allowed also speaks about helping widows or orphans, anyone who can clearly study the Quran can understand that. The Sahabah and Prophets mostly married older women who had children from other men who had died. If men want to follow the example of the Prophet, they should follow it in the way he practiced it. Wars were common, many women were left without homes or men to take care of them. Had Allah disapproved, we would suffer social issues. There are many many many men who are happy with one wife, who dare not think about other women. Even having a thought of a non-mahram while married is a huge sin, how can one approach the thought of Polygamy knowing this is wrong? We see here the clear reasons for Polygamy. Some claim their wife is too fat or too old so they want to get another wife? It's because women are too busy with children they don't have time to even think of getting another man. Though the arab world makes it look like women have no physical desires or feelings. The fact that society has suppressed this, is proof why they claim "Men are Polygamous by nature" I would like to see any type of proof from Islam that this is true? Men were more free to do whatever they pleased, this is the real reason, before Islam and after Islam. It's not a religious view, its a social view. We Muslims are taught to follow the Quran and refer to sunnah and hadeeth, if men want to remarry, then why dont they read the verse on polygamy and refer to the sunnah and hadeeth? There are clear hadeeths that our Prophet pbuh the sahabah remarried older women to help them and be noble men for the sake of allah subhanwaltala, not for sexual reasons as Scholars put it these days. Also when Hazrat Ali wanted to take a second wife for the reasons I put above, it made Hzt Fatima upset and Prophet pbuh forbade Hazrat Ali remarrying a second wife. So if anyone can show a claim from ISLAM that men are polygamous, I would like to see. Please don't bring sciencists' claims into this, because even they claim things that go against Islam.

Although the Quran allows polygamy (it being permissible for a man to have up to four wives as long as you treat them equally) you have to understand it was introduced at a time when men went to into war and have died therefore there were more women than men. It was permissible and even necessary then for men to have more than one wife for the survival of their people. However, as you can tell it’s not necessary now for a man to have more than one wife. We have over 7 billion people on the planet. If your husband ever tells you he wants a second wife, ask him why. If he says it’s a form of worship to Allah or that the Quran says it’s permissible, it’s most likely he’s using that as an excuse or a cover to hide his true desires which is most likely on the sinful side. If you tell him no, watch his reaction. If he presses on the issue despite telling him you’re uncomfortable with it, you will see it is only for his own desires that he asks this of you. After all he’s not allowed to have a second wife without the permission his first wife. If he does it anyway, it’s considered adultery and it carries grave consequences as you probably know.

@meghanaannam25014 жыл бұрын
@kt95 gy Exactly, women and men are not the same in the physical construct, however they MUST be entitled to basic dignity, respect and equal rights. How would a man react/feel if he would have to share his wife? Or take for instance the Muta form of marriage, when asked about how a woman would feel about her dignity and respect being snatched away, men respond that it is the MAN's dignity and respect being snatched in the society, implying that women have no power or whatsoever position in the society to be entitled and feel utmost basic respect shown towards her. Not to forget that this indirectly leads us to the topic of the deep rooted patriarchy prevalent in the society. One must also keep in mind that polygamy is an archaic practice that was introduced by the prophet as a temporary solution to the violence and destruction of the battle of Uhud. In a dynamic society, we simply cannot be expected to accept certain practices and this INCLUDES polygamy. The way polygamy is justified in the video is simply to legalize the practice of adultery, which in turn would lead to a woman feeling the same emotions. Period.

No need to be shocked, all that he said is in Quran. Allah permit up to 4 women to be married (although in the continuation of the verse, one wive is better if you afraid unable to act just to all of your wives) , but as all we knew, its up to men to 'interpret and practice' the meaning behind it. If he wanted to have wives just to fulfill his desire of having a woman and be proud of it than he will use the verse to 'legalise' his act, but if he wanted to use the verse to help old widow that unable to look for a living by married her (like Rasulullah Muhammad pbuh itself had been practiced) than it is better for the man to use the verse as his reason to do it.

This is a really well done piece! I appreciate how the reporter highlights the fact that the man's wives often repeat to her his exact arguments - you see this a lot in interviews with the women of polygamist marriages, but it's very rarely highlighted so starkly, along with the question of whether the polygamy is really the women's choice or just something they have been browbeaten into through his repetition of misogynistic arguments. The interview with the scholar at the end who specifically mentions jealousy as a form of emotional abuse that many women in polygamist marriages may not recognize is also very powerful.

As an Ex-Muslim I want to be as fair as I can. Polygamy is an abhorrent act but it is also one that was committed by many men across continents and cultures. Just like child marriage, child labour, slavery and other evil acts, polygamy was once something accepted. This is very much the legacy of old cultures and religions in our world. There is much we all still do that is ancient in a way e.g. giving in to our primal needs, marriage & weddings, go to war, make peace, trading and even simple things like working to fulfil a purpose etc. If we grew up in a culture that told us X is okay and Y is not then that would become our subjective moral spectrum. Islam does normalise polygamy and it takes a cultural revolution to change the people's conscience i.e. their subjective morality or partiality to be rewired. Men and Women in both the west and east are premiscuous. We are hardwired this way to spread our genes and reproduce. This is something biological. Religion controls this by infiltrating the collective culture and forces us to refrain from indulging. This has its pros and cons. Naturally we can all agree war and violence is bad and if religion stops that then it's a good thing such as commandments or verses. Of course we could argue religion has inspired more war. Initially religions hegemonic stance on sex may have not been bad. To stop STIs and STDs as well as unwanted pregnancies before modern medicine. But now it's outdated; an anachronism. And in this case we can see the dated patriarchal prerogatives of Islam still in play as they were in most cultures of old; with few exceptions. Tl;dr: This is the Islamic equivalent of being a pimp.

The interviewer was very biased and cruel. Polygamy is permissible in Islam, unlike what the sister in green said. So long as a husband can be as fair as possible i.e. He gets one wife a car, he buys the other a car. He buys one a dress, he buys the other a dress. How many men could afford this? Very few. If financially and socially a man can be fair to his wives then he can have more than one. But truly, this is a major responsibility and very few men could do it. A man can love more than one woman at a time. Plural marriage is far better than affairs and secret disgraced amongst men and women. If a man fears himself to be unjust, then he should have one wife and devote his love and attention to her as a husband. Also, jealousy is not the way to heaven nor is jealousy in and of itself abuse. It is a natural emotion for a wife or a husband, what will be rewarded is patience and having a cool head and not becoming angry.

The verse allowing men to take more than one wife was revealed after the Battle of Uhud, in which 10% of the Muslim men had been killed. Allah says what means: And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice]. (Quran, 4:3) Now, in those days there was no kind of social security. If a woman didn’t have a husband, she had no one to provide for her. To put it simply, without a husband she would starve. In a society where there were not enough men to equal the number of women wanting to marry, it was revealed that a man could take more than one wife. But we must understand that this was to provide for her and to care for her. It is not a matter of fulfilling sexual urges. If Muslim men today are taking a second wife to spice up their own sex life, they are quite misunderstanding what Islam is saying. In taking a second wife, a Muslim man should be taking a more pious wife or a woman who is in need. In direct answer to your question, then, according to scholars, the Shari`ah does not require the husband to get the consent of the first wife for a second marriage. This, of course, assumes that the conditions for a second marriage are right according to the Shari`ah. In such a case he can legally go ahead and marry. But, as we have said, the permission to marry more than one wife is given in the Quran in the context of protecting widows, as they need to be taken care of.

well sexual desire for men is instinctive almost automatic and doesn't depend on our brain and feelings, on the other hand women's sexual desire depends heavily on brain stimulation and a complex variety of feelings that a man should provide and that's why after marriage or living together woman's desire drops quickly cause most of that brain stimulation fades. that's why a man can have more than one woman at a time and thus more than one woman at long will cumulatively provide almost the same sexual input as one man.

I love the reporter!!! I feel the same if I can have two husbands then Im in. Also, funny thing about this is that man doesn't even realize he is disrespecting the qur'an. The whole goal of the quran, bible, torah, etc is to overcome your world desires to get closer to god/allah/yahweh. Lust is one of those big sins. Yet, He's using the qur'an as a reason why he has lust. Like hello that's not how this works. On the bible there was incest in the beginning to repopulate the damn earth and nobpdy is using that as excuse to sleep with their parents or siblings. Stop using a holy texts to excuse your sins

A common mistake for Muslim who learn Quran. Let get this straight, polygamy is not suggestion in Quran. When ayah came, most man at that time have more than one wive, even more than four. Then ayah came which is basically saying, okay, you can have more than one but limited to four. With one condition, you must be fair. And ayah went on by (basically) saying, you know what, you will never be and can not be fair, so one it's actually better choice for you. So this ayah was actually to tell muslim to leave polygamy. Polygamy was normal/common practice at that time. And when this ayah come, it's actually to limit the number of it. And even went further saying, just choose one cause it's better for you, you can't handle more than that. The question, why Quran doesn't go straight to 'just one'? See, this ayah, like other ayah, was always given in the goal that no matter what era Muslim will live in, Quran will still relatable and have relevant context. Of course, polygamy may seems so disgraceful in modern days, but imagine when this ayah was given in a time when most women are powerless and would get their honour/protection only through marriage, but single young man were probably not as settled as young man today. Not to forget there were wars, women left behind being widowers who reduce their chance to get remarried. This man in video is ignorance beyond doubt, and sadly he just goes on spreading around his limited (if not mistaken) understanding about Quran.

the subtitling in this video is way off. "women’s fate to feel jealousy" she said in Bahasa Indonesia " fitrahnya perempuan itu kan merasa cemburu" it means "women are naturally inclined to feel jealousy" she goes on to expand on thatwith the following " but if they can overcome that jealousy, they are guaranteed an easy way in to heaven as opposed to men who have a harder route to navigate." VICE. please fire your translator or whoever did the subtitling or if u did it on purpose, shame on you.

Lol, they talk as if only men cheat. If they used the same logic on women that would imply everyone can marry multiple times, may it be wives or husbands. Also, both men and women can get jealous.

I used to feel bad for my Indian ancestors who practised Polygamy and polyandry in the past as per stories. But seeing this I am thankful that I am Indian at least such practices were not supported by any religious phrase.He explained the gruesome concept in a very appealing manner. Thinking polygamy is the path to Salvation, links emotional torcher with devotion and destroys the path of devotion. The divorcee's line was absolutely correct why would pain be linked to God. Hope Indonesians don't encourage polygamy in future as they are now.

No, that part actually makes (some) sense. A lot of STI spread is through affairs, because statistically people are a lot less likely to be responsible about safe sex. Also, if you ignore transmission from other means (badly screened blood transfusion, ect) then a polygamous group who only had sex with each other wouldn't be any more likely to contract an STI in the first place than a monogamous couple who only had sex with each other. Basically it's a lot more about "how risky is your behavior?" and on that scale having a few regular partners is a lot less risky than having lots more, irregular partners, which is the alternative that is implied. Cue people complaining that men should keep it in their pants in the first place and... yeah, totally fair point ;P But if you're going to assume that they can't because they don't have the willpower or whatever... then the rest of the argument makes some sense.
@intuitiveself-love95136 жыл бұрын
@@LaughingIshikawa why should polygamous people have sex only with themselves and monogamous people with others? You can only speak for yourself. You have no idea who is keeping it locked in any relationships. Let me read more. I come from a Community of polygamy which also has high rates of hiv. More wives doesnt stop a husband or wives from getting it somewhere else. Maybe Asian women believe the man's sex drive is higher but I am sure most asian men would not satisfy me so yeah😂😂
@LaughingIshikawa6 жыл бұрын
@ intuitive self-love Well again, if you believe that all men (and maybe women too?) will always cheat no matter what, then we're having a different kind of conversation. But if you believe (as I feel was implied in the interview) that men only cheat because they're unsatisfied with the amount of sex that they can have with only one wife.. then yeah, a monogamous man would cheat more than a polygamous one, in those circumstances. Not that either of those assumptions are what I personally believe... I'm defending her logic proceeding form her assumptions here, not necessarily the assumptions themselves.
@intuitiveself-love95136 жыл бұрын
@@LaughingIshikawa who said I believe ALL men cheat? Cheating might be male based in Indonesia but not where I am. The idea men cant be satisfied with one women again is bullshit. Women especially in polygamous relationships are starved and clearly these women will be rewarded in heaven. I am 100% sure even this husband here would not give me my daily dose. He does not look sexually big or strong so he can play doodle with his wives. Anyways have a lovely day. Cheating has nothing to do with how many wives you have. Its just what it is. Your logic makes sense in Indonesia not anywhere else. Start keeping in mind women cheat too. Something you keep ignoring lol

I agree with what the lady has said, you will never be able to act fairly towards women even if you want to. As a Filipino, I really thought that polygamy is rampant in Indonesia since their religion allows it to. But I found out that I was wrong and just don't totally understand the meaning of their religion. For me, I couldn't stand my wife having an affair with another man. It's insulting and heartbreaking. I don't want to share her love. Here in the Philippines our religion (Roman Catholic) does not allow the practice of polygamy but cheating scandals are common especially among social media personalities and actors. They love talking about loving their partners unconditionally but they don't back it with action. You will just heard a news of them cheating and will deny it to death even if there are evidences. So, most people here in the Philippine Entertainment are hypocrites but fans are blinded and still glorifying this people.
