There’s a good write up in a TDR that came out probably 10-13 years ago. One of the writers took their truck to I believe Limo coach builder and they did a good job of outlining the process.

There is a shop in Utah called Stretch my truck 🛻 they are so Good at turning megacab to a long bed that they are authorized from RAM that it will not void the warranty because they build it that good and the welds are better than factory

Im a somewhat dodge truck and Dakota fan, but a big gm square body and obs gmt400 truck and then a couple of years ago I was offered a second gen gas ram with bad brake lines that were really rusty the truck has rust needs better front fenders and the rockers and cab corners and parts of the bed have rust but even with the electrical issues it has i could not pass it up and it is a nothern ohio truck since new 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed 5.2 litre 318 magnum V8 46 RE AT gloss black with most of a white pinstripe and although it has the wrong doors on the front runs strong starts right up in 24 degree weather carries a consistent 60psi oil pressure at engine operating temperature!! Truck has a completely rebuilt front suspension and new torque converter and front input shaft seal and front pump in the transmission,i it was a rotted battery cable and battery for the electrical issues the battery was from 2003 and was leaking down the battery onto the battery cable coming out of the power distribution center underhood fuse block and about rotted it in two.. bought a complete set of stainless steel brake lines from classic tube out of ohio $209 shipped replaced all of them but under the bed, needs the muffler replaced, the truck has the premium infinity by chrysler am fm cd player cassette tape player stereo system with the premium infinity 6 speaker system but the factory speakers are junk interior is decent need to acquire the front fenders in gloss black with the white pinstripe hopefully lol I may luck out because i believe that they pinstripe the hood not the front fenders lol. it has factory front and back bumpers and grille factory black.. my truck doesn't have the stereo system button assortment on the back of the steering wheel and the overhead console outside temp and compass display readout id like have that one but i don't know what to do to make it work, and the dash is already covered with a dash skinz dash cap.. i put yellow lense dna motoring manufacturing all brand new fog lights installed in the front bumper and they work well not led though. But the truck itself with its issues was offered to me for $1,500 i bought it and how often do you see a 98-01 1500 quad cab long bed 4x4 ?!
