Thank you, Peter, for continuing to show us these hidden gems! I thought about it for a few days, and it just wouldn't leave my mind. So, I did the rational thing and ordered one! I had to get the Malaga red that you showcased in this video. The font is just too cool.

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

That deep red drew me right in from the start/the thumbnail. Never heard of CAMP watches before, so thanks for that introduction! I appreciate the case shape more than the size, but I'm very interested in their future pieces!

That dial color, font, and case shape are all cool as hell. Don’t know if I’d pay close to a grand for it, though. It’s definitely a looker, that’s for sure. Btw, fantastic strap choice for this watch. That reddish-brown leather strap works perfectly.

Never heard of them before, but what a great introduction. Gorgeous nigh black deep red dial, & I adore the typeface. Extremely slick first attempt. I'm in almost two minds about the exhibition caseback, I'd have been happy with a closed back & a thinner/lighter watch too. Great specs wise, maybe a chunkier crown would've been nice for more presence, but no other real complaints... But then I think "how nice would it be to watch the light take that dial through an acrylic crystal?" I'm pretty tempted ngl, it's rare to see a microbrand with such a clear & mature sense of independent style

The dial is very attractive, but you are right in highlighting the undersized crown. I can envisage falling out of love with this each time I have to manually wind it, especially as I have large fingers and have struggled with this issue in the past. An easy fix if they are so inclined.

By God when Peter Kotsa says this is the coolest watch he’s seen all year, I am checking it out! And as a lifelong Californian, I have a sense of pride also that the watch came from the Golden State. I agree about the bracelet (it needs a dedicated one), but I personally like the type on the case back. It’s artistic and industrial at the same time. Thanks for showing us the watch!

This is a gorgeous watch and incredibly cool and original. Love the dial, the numerals, and overall design. The straps are fabulous looking too, shame they are not as comfortable as you'd expect though. Overall this is one heck of a watch and I'd absolutely love one of these; however, it's way out of my price range, as usual. I'd so love to see something this original for under $500 for once.

To stand out from the numerous microbrands, references to the automobile that Camp Watches has chosen to bring to these pieces, and which you highlighted in your presentation: superb dial in enameled lacquer, ultra thick and manufactured by the Swiss company Berlac; the dial color taken from the BMW 02 series of the 1960s; the fonts are unique...And let's talk about the movement, since everything seems to have been carefully thought out, the decoration of the movement with the screws is done, it seems to me, to emphasize the "engine" of this watch inspired by the automobile. In summary, Mr. Peter Kotsa, you introduced me, once again, to a different and unique watch.
@PeterKotsa2 ай бұрын
I think this is so cool A slightly larger crown would have been ideal for me (especially being manual wind) Really stunning to look at though, that dial and font is 🔥

I love it when you bring a brand as yet unknown to me on the channel. This looks really quite delicious. U think it's the depth of the dial that makes me say delicious in this instance. I like the vintage oddity of the font, thpugh less sure if it ix something I'd want to look at everyday. I suppose I could and it woudk certainly not be boring. The case shape, for me, is actually more immediately arresting. That undercut is quietly brilliant and it looks to wear beautifully. For me, it's a downside though that at these dimensions it's not an automatic. If the crown then also falls a little short, that becomes an even bugger complaint. At the price, an SW300 could have solved this for sure. The case back I'll give a pass. Clearly they want to be a funky dial, and it'll be against my wrist, so not a big deciding factor. For me, though, they could have simply kept it closed and neutral just as well. When finslky one takes into consideration that I would tend to agree that none of these straps are quite right, I get the unfortunate feeling I'm paying a full premium micro price for the wrong reasons. I think the concept will naturally lend itself to different dial variants and strpas can be changed, bracelets developed. Making the right choices this design direction could become very compelling.

Just had a look at their website, I agree with one of the other comments the hands need to be something with more “finish” the squared off ends don’t seem to fit with the look. If they did a cross hair style dial like their Florida green with more contrast I would seriously consider one for the collection. Don’t know why they changed that font for the other models seems odd.
@hamburgmusik2 ай бұрын
I really like the dial. It's funky but not over the edge and seems very legible. I also like the display case back, it's unusual. What I have a problem with is the logo. It looks like if they felt they HAD to do something with the name. With a graphics program from the 90s. I'd have preferred "CAMP" in a minimal, thin font. Cool watch though!

Something very different for sure Pete, in two minds about the price especially for a manual wind although it’s a Swiss movement the accuracy spec could have been done with a 9000 Myota & maybe shaved some cost? I’m guessing the enamelled dial in person would be a stand out I would love to see one “in the flesh” , that font is beautiful almost art deco which I personally love. I think if it was closer to A$1K it would be a more attractive proposition for me. Great pics as always mate.
@PeterKotsa2 ай бұрын
In hindsight I actually think this would have been ideal with a SW300 series,..or as you said Miyota could also work.
@nukadog19692 ай бұрын
I dig it quote a bit, but the multiple fonts on the caseback bother me a bit. If you're going to use an italic font on the spec sheet, maybe mirror that font on the plate? Then again, I'm not looking at the caseback most of the time.
