This is extremely important! The ultimate absorbent sponge(all sponges combined) can soak up ANY liquid even the SHIMMER!!!! You should probably grind for it if you can for the mechs and plantera and expertly for golem🙂

I like the Volcano. The other components have names that really sell that these aren't your average run of the mill swords. The Muramasa, the ultimate blade forged by Murasama, the Light's Bane, the end all be all cure to holy forces, the Bloody Butcherer, a weapon of mass goring and carnage, the Blade of Grass, a punny sword that embodies the natural forces of the jungle... and then there's the Fiery Greatsword, which is a fiery greatsword. The Volcano indicates it has power comparable to a volcanic eruption.

Here's a huge tip you probably already thought of, but here it is anyway; get a mana cloak, and toss it into the shimmer. You'll be able to walk in small amounts, but touching down will instantly make you fall through.

Jumping into space is exclusive to this seed (and the everything seed of course), also equipping an inner tube at the bottom of an ocean in a non-shimmer filled world like this launches you at escape velocity due to the lowered surface gravity.

One thing I'd heavily recommend investing time in finding: water walking boots, you can find em in any water chest and they work on shimmer, which means no more falling onto it and jumpscaring you, obviously a star cloak is more useful, but still, you can also get them by fishing anywhere in this seed, and it becomes a permanent solution once you turn em into terraspark

It makes me happy to see someone do challenges in vanilla terraria! I have a challenge that I've always wanted to see be done. The Challenge is an event drop only run. That means anything you get from goodie bags/presents is usable, natural growing pumpkins as they grow naturally due to the Halloween event that terraria has, but everything else you gain from Goblin army (& Goblin tinkerer), blood moon, frost moon (& Santa), solar eclipse, pumpkin moon, pirate invasion (& Captain), & old one's army (& bartender)

Recommendation Try to get the Party Girl to spawn so you can get bubbles, this way instead of draining everything out slowly you can map out what portion you need to drain. Everything drains out without more flowing in.

A little time saving tip for any future challenges: The first locked chest that generates in a world (the one closest to the dungeon entrance) will always contain a maramasa.

Theres a certain order the other items generate but A: i dont remember and B: usually the dungeon branches off a bunch by the time you find those chests so its hard to determine which generated before another.

Actually, i think it's the chest at the highest Y coordinate in the dungeon. Sometimes the dungeon will branch off and go higher, resulting in a muramasa chest above the intended first chest. This has happened multiple times to me, but correct me if i'm wrong though

Dying to the top of the world is exclusive to the dontdigup seed. I've gotten juggled up a couple of times thanks to the low gravity, obscene spawn rate, and how short the overworld is. I get Harpies on my Skeletron arena in my world. This seed has been a great remixed experience, if a bit slow going with all the digging and having to go up.

As others have noted, pylons are great. Also, as soon as you get the angler, I reccomend just going for the honey and water sponges as soon as possible. They can be combined with the lava one to make a sponge that can also absorb shimmer both are gained through angler quests. The water one from whatever normal quest, and the honey one where he asks for the bee fish

Luckily the hard part is over, it’ll be just more tedious water from this point as there’s a special cloak that nullifies the shimmering as long as you don’t press down, all you need is a star cloak from a mimic

God. Opening the wiki just to check if Legendary (or any prefix in particular) actually is possible/the best prefix is such a mood! Sometimes it really does just take an eternity to get the one you want and it really makes one doubt themselves.

I'm most certainly too late for that, but the Muramasa can actually always be found in the first generated golden chest, counting from the entrance of the dungeon. I love your content and hope my advice will come in handy in a future playthrough!
