For some origins, Chi-Chi comes from a Chinese food brand called Miracle Star. They started out with a few milk commercials that were spoofs of certain Gumball scenes, which is okay. But later on they started making fully extended episodes that ran for a good while, which definitely is not okay 🛏️ Anais doesn’t exist in Miracle Star because I’m pretty sure China has a law where you can only have two specific kids?? I know the law but I don’t fully remember it

In the storyboards, the actual Miracle Star designs (the ripoff they referenced) were used. They switched them to more original ones to avoid any legal issues (which is ironic) but still made it clear which ripoff they were referencing.

I have a lot of nostalgia about this episode It came out on February 2017 in the US, but around May in France I was on vacation in the US and I saw this episode (in VO obviously, and I didn't speak English at this time) I had to wait 4 months to understand the dialogues of this episode, and it was worth the shot ! I love the copycats, the idea of this episode was so great
