American police seem to do this all the time it’s like they are fixated on somebody from the beginning and all they do is try to prove that guilt rather than remain open-minded. I’m 100% sure almost at least 90% that it was O.J. Simpson son that killed Nicole and not O.J. Simpson but O.J. Simpson went to the scene to drive his son away hence getting blood from the scene. We could've gotten her there quicker but we weren't able to move her at the time. So to me, driving that person yourself isn't strange at all. More heat of the moment, get them the help they need as soon as possible. Also Tod’s reaction to the questioning is actually pretty accurate. Especially in small towns with how little males are allowed to show emotions. We don’t have big break downs. No man cries at a death and women focus on caring for everyone before processing emotions. And small town rumors are very accurate where everyone knows everything. But affairs can be more easily hidden than you think. Lots of back roads that everyone knows like the back of their hand and just going for a drive is what you do. There aren’t places to hangout at. There is no park, mall, places people go. You steal the farm hand truck, you pick up your friends and go “cruising” down back roads.

As someone who also acts impulsively in sudden, panicky situations- I saw myself doing the "drive to the hospital first, and call 911 on the way" decision as well if I were him. Especially if they lived so far away, I'd hope to bring her to the hospital as soon as possible and cut paramedic travelling time with however much closer I can get to the hospital using my car. I'm not saying Todd isn't guilty 100% but I definitely don't think there was enough, or even substantial evidence to convict him with that charge(yet). The dude deserves another trial. They judged him on textbook reactions and never considered how different individuals would react to situations.

100% - if you are 1 hour out from the hospital then: Explaining to the dispatchers, giving the address and waiting for the ambulance to find you = 1 hour. Get in the car and start driving and maybe meet the ambulance half way = 30 minutes. Not unreasonable in the heat of the moment to just go for it without really thinking.

As someone who used to live in the middle of nowhere, I would 100% start driving to a hospital before making a 911 call. Personally, I think that Todd was trying to cover for his son. Tristan’s story was the only one that changed AND he was the one who “found” his mom. Perhaps he saw an opportunity to overpower his mom in her weak state because he knew she was having affairs and thought his dad was being too lenient. And *IF* Tristan did it, he would have likely had blood on him, and that’s why Todd laid her body across him and Tristan in the car. So that the blood could be dismissed by doing this. Also, I have a difficult time believing a grown adult would search about ancient cultures doing away with adulterers. I don’t know, just seems kind of childish to me. On top of jewelry searches and Pinterest, other people besides Todd used the iPad. 🤷🏻♀️ Edit: I’m watching some of the court trial right now because at this point I’m invested, lol. Literally I live in Iowa not too far from Anamosa and I'm certain that's what happened. With a lot of these small towns they don't have their own fire department/ambulance/police/emergency services. You have to go to the nearest city for that. So when something happens in a small town, ambulances take F O R E V E R to get there and THEN they take F O R E V E R to get back to the hospital. It's honesetly just faster to go to the hospital yourselves, and alert 911 while you're already on your way. IDK why the cops thought that was so suspicious, that's literally what everyone in small towns out here does when something happens.

As a 911 operator for almost 10 years, it’s not uncommon for people in rural areas to take it upon themselves to drive people to the hospital, sometimes it can take up to a half an hour for an ambulance just to get to the scene of the accident. I’ve taken a lot of calls from people who call 911 while they’re en route to the hospital with the person because they feel like they can get them to the hospital sooner than waiting for the ambulance to get to them and then transport back to the hospital which in a lot of cases is true.
@paigeelliott33953 жыл бұрын
911 dispatcher here too, and yes! We have many calls like this. I work in a rural county and in certain parts of the county it can take up to 45 minutes for ems to arrive. Def not uncommon for this to happen.
@Pluto_Is_A_Planet_3 жыл бұрын
Very true! I grew up in a very small town like this. There were less than 500 people in my town, and we were almost an hour from the next town over where the closest hospital was located. 911 wasn't even used much because of that. If someone had an emergency, you hopped in a car and had someone take you.
@sbfairy3 жыл бұрын
ER nurse here. This absolutely happens. I used to worked in a town where the next nearest hospital was 20 miles away. At least once a week someone would do something like this. Also, people do this all the time with their children. It’s rare (I don’t work in a children’s hospital but the city I live in now has one) for a child to come to my hospital by EMS. I’ve taken care of very sick/injured kids whose parents just tossed them in the car and drove them. This is not uncommon.
@amandak31983 жыл бұрын
We are not even that far out of town and when I was having a miscarriage my husband drove me to the hospital. Its double time if you wait for an ambulance. There's only so much EMT's can do, they are there to try and get you stable enough to get to a hospital where they have more resources. If you are needing surgery to stop internal bleeding, that's not happening in an ambulance.

I do not understand why Tristan was not questioned more thoroughly. 1) He was the first person to find his mom. What if he found her in a compromised position and took advantage of the opportunity? She would not have suspected him to hurt her, so she wouldn’t have struggled with him too much. 2) He left his dad and went to get water changing the time he was gone throughout the course of the investigation. Suspish 3) Tristan most likely would have been able to turn off of the cameras just as easily as his dad. 4) He also would have been able to use his dads iPad to make google searches. 5) He played sports with the Jerry’s kids, is it possible the kids found out about the affair and Tristan decided to take matters into his own hands? 6) Also, do you think Tristan was planning on eventually taking over the farm? Perhaps the idea of divorce and having the farm broken up would have spoiled his future plans? I lived in rural PA most of life and though farming is hard work, it’s also a fairly lucrative business that perhaps Tristan was willing to give up? I’ve got so many questions here.

the son was super traumatized, covered in blood, and unaccounted for. he could have got mad at his mom and just boom, crime of passion. and the dad willingly took the fall, which would also explain his demeanor in court since he knew that if someone was going down for it it was gonna be him because he was making sure it wasn’t the son.

Todd also chose to lay his wife across his son, so if there was any blood spatter on him previously it would have been covered up. Hey guys don’t forget that the son actually totally changed his story during the trial... I’m thinking as many others in the comments section that Todd might be covering his son’s mistake... Maybe the son just lost control and called his dad right after attacking the mother and the dad just thought that he wouldn’t want his son to ruin his life so he took all the blame... Think of it that way, the search history was a little off to me and his son might have just gone carried away when rumors started spreading that her mom was cheating, and even probably insulted, you know how it is with kids. Maybe he thought that his dad doing nothing wasn’t right and confronted his mother in the barn. If she didn’t have any remorse or told him she wanted to leave his father, taking some of their money, their family life and everything, he might have lost it... Pushed her or something and accidentally killed her... I don’t know it’s just a theory but I’m really thinking that the dad wasn’t going to go that far because he already had been cheating on and handled it really well at the time... He wanted this to work for his family and probably was ready to still try to figure it out after everything... The story of the son seems so off when the dad never changed his version...

Growing up on a beef ranch, I know first hand, you are taught from a very young age that bad things can happen if you're not careful around farm equipment. If something does happen, you start driving to the hospital, then call for help because help simply can't get to you fast enough and it could be the difference between life and death. You also take on farm responsibilities from a young age. You learn about life's beginnings and ends very early. It does not surprise me at all that he started driving, then called 911. The ambulance can get to them faster if he can meet them half way. It also doesn't surprise me that the mother was laid on the son's lap. The father was the only one who could drive, so that left the oldest child to jump in and help stabilize. This is incredibly sad and I feel so badly for this family. Truly misrepresented and not given a fair trial.
@danidan99173 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. And if he wanted her to die he would have just stayed on the farm! She was pretty much gone at that stage anyway, and he knew it.

@AKredhed3 жыл бұрын
I too, living in Alaska, know to drive and the ambulance will meet you. I mean it’s a small town. Not like there’s a million routes to the hospital. However keeping the heart pumping oxygen to her brain is also important so CPR needed to get started. Hence him stopping to preform CPR once it was brought to his attention.
@Katy-ys6rn3 жыл бұрын
My husband and I were screaming all of these things at the TV!! I completely agree and think a lot of his actions are understandable when you are familiar with extremely rural living and the silent reserved farmer type. He reacted in a way that would have given his wife the best chance, not like a man that wanted her dead. So sad...
@amandaholtmann7823 жыл бұрын
My boyfriend farms and his address always sends anyone to the wrong location.. so living out in the middle of nowhere it seems like common sense to drive anyone closer to town.. especially if there is someone to stabilize the injured person or do CPR on the way. Or if the locations aren’t 100% accurate like they are when you live in town, that could cost a life too.

Actually thats not really true. Most people that are innocent vehemently deny their involvement. Its sort if a guttural respone to being accused of somethjng so heinous that you had nothing to do with. A person who reacts calmly and says "why do you say that?" is the exception to the rule. Most innocent people will get angry and defiant, and interrogators know this. I watched an interesting video about this concept. For me personally i had an incident not long ago where i was falsely accused of something at my work and I was livid. Its one of the worst things to be accused of something bad that you didnt do. Which is why i think its better a guilty man goes free than an innocent man go to prison.

Looks like they were court appointed with a heavy workload so didn't keep their eye on the ball and let the prosecution just hang him out to dry. This guy deserves another trial and maybe get KKW to defend him (sorry about that last bit but she could use her celebrity status to shed light on it all and put the dizzy spells into the forefront of the jurors thinking) i also think if he did do it why would he again put his child through hearing him make that 911 call and having his mother probably die in his lap? Do many questions unanswered but the main one is the guy was probably or most likely in shock so showed no emotion but that police officer who initially questioned him was like a cat with a mouse and had a theory and the prosecution went with it. Where as their investigation, did they do one or just rely on that one officers "get instinct that something wasn't right because he was emotion less" the guy just lost his wife ffs !!

Hi hello, as someone who grew up with a farmer as a dad I want to say that all of his actions made complete sense to me and that the investigators clearly didn’t understand how farmer men are. Most of them aren’t very emotional and can appear really cold when they do in fact care deeply about things, and everything that was listed about Tod being the paranoid one and wanting to make the marriage work only proves that exact instance to me. They act on instinct. As a farmer you have to be on your toes *especially* in an emergency and you end up acting on impulse and try and figure things out as you go along, his first instinct to put her in the truck makes sense because it was the first thing he thought of to do and in a rural area it would’ve been a quicker way to get to the hospital then to sit there and wait 45 minutes or longer for an ambulance. He acted on impulse, as farmers do. I believe that Tod is innocent and I’m with everyone here that the one that needs to be questioned is Tristan- he’s the only one that left his dad for any amount of time, changed his story, and of course is the one everyone would least expect. His motive could’ve been he found out about his mom’s divorce plan and didn’t want to leave? maybe he somehow figured out of caught on that she was cheating on Tod *again*? I feel like he really needed to be looked into more, there’s so many things that make no sense…
