whether you agree with me or not Fran was the primary cause of the downfall of the entire family. even when Gary tried very hard to provide her a stable life away from the hood she couldn't get away from the drugs and the partying. Gary was straight laced in the beginning and had a stable life, she on the other hand slept, snorted cocaine and dranked all day. yet she bared no responsibility in all of this.
@Iroc3140729 жыл бұрын
Antonio Johnson She was sure enough trifling for not doing her duties as a wife and a mother. However, Gary is more to blame than she is because she was ratchet from day one, and he chose to be with her anyway. You don't cast your pearls to swine. He chose a trashy woman and even when she slept all day and did drugs, he foolishly stayed with her instead of taking his kids and leaving her. She made it perfectly clear she wasn't going to be a decent wife deserving of a hard working man with money, job, and stability to provide for his family. He should have taken charge and left with his life in tact.
@jjtiojohn129 жыл бұрын
Iroc314072 Right, Gary was a bit of a pushover, which I did feel sorry for him because in the end everybody took from him and he felt like he was obligated to take care of everybody in his hood when in fact everyone was looking to pull him down to there level and destroy what ability he had to get out of his downward spiral into Heroin. Gary in fact did it to himself because he was a nice person and when your that nice, meek and Humble people tend to take advantage of that.
@Iroc3140729 жыл бұрын
Antonio Johnson I couldn't agree with you more. When you're so kind that you're easily taken advantage of, you do a disservice to yourself hanging around people you can't keep up with. I felt bad for him also.

It was too real for mainstream TV back then… only HBO could pull off a show of this caliber. I I remember correctly in the mid 90’s Fox had a show called “South Central” that was a sitcom that dealt with themes of urban life in South Central L.A. It only lasted one season… not because it wasn’t good because it was but because it was too real for mainstream tv at the time. Larenz Tate starred in the show and he starred in Menace to Society a couple years earlier. All the episodes for South Central are on KZbin.

How did you like the other episodes? This was a really sad miniseries… it was really powerful! I found myself rooting for Gary through the entire series… not many shows move me the way this one has and it had me fighting back tears on many occasions. 😞

Pretty sure the beginning location is Old Face Andres store in The Wire. Looks eerily similar. Idk if there were set pieces in the show, but that looks like an actual location.

This show is hard to watch sometimes because I quit shooting H and seeing them do it reminds me of the best feeling ever. Then I look at the show and realise I don't want that misery, it's not fun anymore. But having a mediport (it's like a pic line or central line) is so fucking tempting, I don't even have to find a vein, just hit the port. In all honesty I'll probably do it, but I'm on methadone now, standing in line every morning
