My parents never tried to force my sister Jenelle and I to go to a certain school. I went to UNC Chapel Hill and my sister went to NC State. I remember my sister and I played a prank on my parents when my acceptance letter for UNC came. I had an old brochure from the Military when recruiters cane to our HS. So my sister typed up a fake rejection letter from UNC and a fake acceptance letter from the Marines. We went up and i showed the fake letter and pretended that I didn’t get in. Then I handed my mom the Marine Brochure and the fake acceptance letter. I said that since I didn’t get into college I decided to follow in my grandfathers footsteps and join the Marines. Oh my god my parents reaction was priceless. My dad looked like he was about to have a heart attack. My mom was hella pissed she freaked the hell out. She starts like what the hell is wrong with you etc. She actually grabbed me and slapped me. I was like oh shit Jenelle help me. My sister had to get in between us. I then pulled the real letter out of my purse. Which was the acceptance letter to UNC. I was like calm down don’t hit me it’s a prank and quick handed her the letter. Jenelle and I started laughing my mom finally calmed down. She was like I can’t stand you don’t do things like that. I said like you really believed that I would join. She said that I since I played sports and that I was fit that yes. Jenelle looked at her laughing and said seriously Kristen goes psycho chic on people if they get in her face. How would she get through boot camp. Then my mom was like oh true didn’t think of that. Then she gave me a hug and congratulated me for getting into UNC. Good times though.

My nieces did the same thing to their dad, he's a diehard NC State guy. They knew saying they were going to Carolina would drive him nuts.

I just thought of something…do you think they persuaded Sondra to go to Hillman since she’s the first born? She ended up going to Princeton instead.

Well, you told him nobody. So you can't be upset about that. Why be mad at him for following instructions that YOU gave him? He wasn't stupid. He did what he was told.
