it isn't necessarily romance, more so about love and family, but have you read The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey? If you're wanting something atmospheric and snowy, that book is so beautiful

What a lovely voice! I've skipped many bookish videos because of that hyper-enthusiastic over-reacting happily super-loud voice that's simply piercing my ears. Finaly someone i can listen to. And nice, and interesting. Glad to have found this chanel

If you want a magical wonderful hidden gem for a Christmas book, I recommand to everybody "The Enchanted Sonata" by Heather Dixon Wallwork, it's a nutcracker retelling full of magic, adventure, love, the most beautiful atmospheric writing, it became one of my favourite book ever !

Mimi Matthews is a safe place for me and "A Holiday by Gaslight" is one of my favourite Christmas romances, if you haven't read "North and South" by Elizabeth Gaskell, I strongly recommend it to you. It's the source of inspiration for Mimi Matthews' book. This year I am reading another historical romance, this time set around 1910 or so. It is inspired by "The Nutcracker" and the protagonist is a dreamer who has to choose between her childhood love or a very powerful yet cold union. The book is beautifully written by Roseanna M. White and its title is "Christmas at Sugar Plum Manor" Merry Christmas to you and your family and all of the people watching your videos!

Oooh I’m so excited to hear that you enjoyed A Holiday by Gaslight!! I can’t wait to read more of it🥰 And I had no idea that it was inspired by North and South😱 I started reading that a few weeks ago and loved it but I haven’t managed to continue so I definitely want to start again soon! Thank you also for the recommendation😍 it sounds so dreamy and I can’t wait to look it up❄️🎄

Merry Christmas Ahya! I recently completed my yearly reflection & I included finding your channel as one of my yearly highlights. Prior to finding your channel, I mostly read self-development books every once in a while & it started feeling like a chore. Your videos have introduced me to the world of fantasy books & have ignited my love for reading fiction. My life feels fuller, thank you ❤️.

If you like Caraval then I think you'll like Once Upon A Broken Heart too. It's perfect for winter, it's fantasy romance and there are no explicit scenes

Oooh really?!! I've actually been wanting to read Once Upon a Broken Heart which is why I picked up Caraval in the first place so that I could read OUABH next, but I'm so excited to hear that it's perfect for winter! Thank you for letting me know🥰❄

The countryside winter based books are always heart melting😊 missed a genre from u that’s the horror, gothic winter vibe books , as winter morning without a cup of tea is unimaginable so A WISDOM OF TEA by noriko morishita could be loving ☕️

Let's see...if you're interested in a middle grade story set in the Arctic, I would recommend Leila & the Blue Fox by Kiran Millwood Hargrave... Also when it comes to winter, I love reading historical fiction novels...for instance, The Circus Train by Amita Parikh❤

I don't keep or own many books, but I do own a copy of A Christmas Carol. It is one of the most beautiful stories. I have heard of Caraval and hear good things only about it. I have yet to read it though. I appreciated your review of Tomorrow and Tomorrow. . .etc. I have seen the book around all year and didn't really know what it was about. What do you tab in your books? I have been really really wanting to read All Creatures Great and Small. Glad it was good! I will be reading it in 2025 for sure. I read A Holiday by Gaslight last year during this season! It was too short in my opinion and I wanted more! I found it to be unique though with the idea of when pipes would have to be put into places with electricity and all that. It's snowing in your home (hehe). Cute effect. It is snowing outside where I live right now. :)

Awww thank you for watching the video🥹🤎 I usually use sticky tabs to mark things that I easily want to come back to in the future like beautiful nature descriptions or memorable quotes that were touching or swoonworthy romance quotes!!💕 How magical that it's snowing where you live! I had to bring the snow indoors since there's no sign of snow outdoors here >
@TheMennomilist
@TheMennomilist Күн бұрын
@AhyasCottage Oh that is a pretty nice way of doing it, with the tabs. I don't keep books really (just a handful honestly), as I would have nowhere to keep them all (I read 126 books this year so far alone, and at 41 with a family of five in a tiny apartment, I would have accumulated a full library of them), but I have a "quotes book" that I will use to write my favorites down in. I flip through the book every so often to reread my favorite quotes. I love that you keep tabs on nature descriptions! How lovely.
