I've travelled to Malta and joined a tour that explained a lot about this order. There's still a "hospital" in Malta that, during the crusades, was considered one of the most modern in the world. The Order had vital importance in assisting crusaders and treating them. Their history is fascinating

On my travels I noticed that ambulances in Canada often seem to have an affiliation with " the Society of St. John". I once found myself reading an old First Aid manual from them. What you're asking is the equivalent of if the UN existed in the 1860's for them to recognise the CSA as a country as soon as they broke away, they only would have had they won the war and if the US recognised them as a country and not as separatist rebels. And the Holy See (basically the Vatican) is on the UN and its existence isn't disputed by anyone

SMOM owns two buildings in Rome, Italy. The larger building contains a hospital, a treasury which issues stamps And coins, their state department is on the second floor and you can get your passport stamped their. Their currency Is called Scudi which is Avery old Latin name. The other building is known as the Ducal Palace and is where many Of the officials live. Italy does not recognize SMOM postage or currency so if you want to actually mail something From their post office you put both SMOM and Italian stamps on the letter.

It's not the Danish flag it's the Order of Malta's flag. On this flag the cross is centered, on the danish flag the cross is off center. the reason is a common origin for participating in the crusades. back then there werent much flags to represent any european land so after the crusade. people brought forth a very powerful symbol of the cross waving it about to take back the holy land. savoy has an even more similar flag to the order of malta than denmark

Not an oxymoron, without any formal training in how to think you can easily fall prey to logical fallacies, not critically analysing things, not using evidence and sources, etc. To "think" is to use logic, and that in itself doesn't just exist it was invented and has to be practised to use it well. Like arseholes every person has an opinion, the only thing separating which opinions are worth listening to is which are more well informed, ie. who can think better, because they know how. Just think of it as the old 'teach a man how to fish' analogy, you're not teaching him what to think about and what conclusions to arrive at but literally the act of thinking properly and logically.
