The staff is called an Energy Stave and is a cut weapon from Halo 2. Was intended to be used as a weapon in the game. Most content in Halo 2 was actually cut as they had a very troublesome development. Great video Abz, the Honour Guard are my favourite!

i often wonder why multiple species weren't rolled into the honor guard it would have been a nice symbol of unity, as well as a diversification of its forces but I guess only the elite were 'worthy' of the role

Well mostly just weren't capable, but mostly yes because the elites are the only worthy, grunts aren't worthy, and the covenant never really cares for diversity or unity, other species were below them

I love gears of war but I'd have to give it to Halo honor guards because they have better equipment and a better track record of victory on the battle field experience mixed with great equipment I think I'd be a slaughter

@@kingtreck7117 Yeah, the locust palace guards will be destroyed in a matter of minutes, because the covenant honor guards are more advanced, have energy shields and also use stealth, while palace Guards are more armored than any other locust they still won't have a chance, because they aren't as advanced as the honor guards, and even tho palace guards are more experienced locust drones, They still will be killed

I mean the covenant would win a war just because they have space ships with the capabilities of glossing planets. I would say in a ground infantry type battle I think it would be close, but I would still give the slight edge to the covenant just because of plasma weapons and personal shields. Those two pieces of tech are in reality, make every infant unit incredibly dangerous.

@@thomaswalmsley8959 Well sure Covenant will have superiority because they have space ships, vehicles and other so they can glass the entire planet... but Locust live hundred of meters underground... so i think this war would be draw because Covenant on the Surface have more superiority but Underground the Locust are in they natural environment...

@@ultraelite143 the media is somewhat inconsistent but uf the glossing capabilities are as powerful as its portrayed in some, the covenant can probably just burn off the atmosphere. Barring that the covenant can keep the locus contained under ground so the locus would probably just be resorting to insurgent type warfare because they're loose a fight above ground due to firepower. But if it was sqaud v squad of locus vs elites it'd be pretty close. But I'd give the elites a slight advantage for reasons stated above.
