Just saw the “Cowsills Story” on Amazon, and now have an ever more immense amount of appreciation and respect for these people. Wonderful people caught up in an unfortunate situation that many others have, before and since. Only, they had to deal with it in the national spotlight. Such talent, love and promise should’ve been nurtured and protected. Instead, they had to fend for themselves, emotionally, which cut an incredible career short and robbed them, and US, of what would have been years of great music. This is why I say that non-musical people should NEVER be involved in decisions regarding band personnel, songs, styles, etc.

Highly under-rated, this was the Cowsill's best song in my book. I used this for a lady who retired at work, spliced in photos of her and played this song in the original version, and people at worked loved the song and what it portrayed. The Cowsills were the best family group right on top with the Osmonds on down.

Wouldn't it be great to go back to the 60s, maybe around 1967. Love the Cowsills more today than I did back in the 60s. "Yes Some Good Years"

For me The Cowsills are just like most other American families, although with tons of talent, their lives haven't been easy, some just tragic, buy yet they still get up on stage and make us adore them all. This song is a classic, and represents the band in a nutshell, so much talent and such little luck, one of the biggest "What Ifs" ever.

Nowadays we shouldn't pity this band, what it was it was and what it wasn't, bloody shame! For me, they simply are one of the best bands ever. The family crap doesn't count.

Some Good Years Side B of Christmastime (Bob Cowsill, Mary Jo Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bob Back in time there's a place I remember, Feels so long ago. Everything I imagined was in my reach, Knew that it was going to last ever more. (Chorus) All I can say, yeah, How the good shines through. They were some good years. It went on and on, Just like a ocean. Made you feel so good. But then just like it rose and it was fallen. Guess nothing last the way it should (Chorus) They were some good years How the good, how the good, How the good shines How the good, how the good, How the good shines How the good, how the good, How the good shines through. How the good, how the good, How the good shines, How the good, how the good, How the good shines, How the good, how the good, How the good shines through. Wonder why I don't know pain and sorrow, Even in my mind. There must be some little room inside my heart for Memories that I just can't leave behind. (Chorus) It's all I can say, How the good shines through------ They were some good, they were some good They were some good years. I recall. I recall.
