I always thought that The Cramps were at the forefront of the US punk movement. Never knew the names of their songs. Their songs remind me of The Dead Kennedys even though there is that rockabilly sound. Loved your reactions.

I got the Human Fly single at Missing LInk records in Melbourne back in 79, 80.. Good ol' days when you had to just take a chance on something or talk to the expert behind the counter.. Also saw them at Festival Hall around 85

No Halloween is complete without The Cramps. In the spirit of the season, might I also suggest "Carry Home" by The Gun Club, and a later affiliated band Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds doing "La Arana" (pronounced a-RON-ya) in that psycobilly vein. Great upload.

@@heathcornbeef when I saw them, Lux had a pair of gold lamé skintight trousers with matching heels on, and that was it. Someone threw a shoe onstage, Lux filled it with wine, drank from it, and threw it back. Fur Dixon was the bass player at the time and she had the same outfit on you can see in their Tube appearance on youtube , Ivy had these ridiculous lion print leggings and was her spectacular Ice Queen self. NIick Knox just sat at the back in shades as usual. I could have died in the mosh pit, I almost went down in the crowd, with my hands stuck in the pockets of my jacket as the crowd was so tight, one of the most insanely frightening experiences of my entire life, it was awesome!

If you feel like exploring the eighties rockabilly movement, a band you might want to try, is that little old band from Downey California, The Blasters! I suggest Border Radio and American Music.

Got to see them live at the Festival Hall, Melbourne 1986. They were fun. I am not much of a fan of all that Rockabilly-revival stuff in the 80's (Stray Cats were fun until they ran their course, and UK band, Matchbox, irritated me). Anyway, I have a 'Who Did It Better' Halloween comparison. Lord Luther - I Was A Teenage Creature vs Daddy Cool - I Was A Teeanger Creature nzoz1974 I rather Daddy Cool's live performance on the nzoz1974 channel.
