The DeLorean car was made famous thanks to the Back To The Future movies, but the real company that made DeLoreans went bankrupt within just a couple of years of starting. So what happened? The crazy story of the DeLorean Motor Company involves a war, FBI agents, and a million dollar coke deal gone wrong. It’s a business story with a meteoric rise to the top and a disastrous fall to the bottom, with lots of wealth, fame, and drama along the way. Plus, a very eccentric CEO. We were little when DeLorean came out in 1981. I remember it being in the Back to the Future movie. We were a bit little to recall the car company was on trial for a drug deal. My sister and I were shocked to learn this today.

that’s crazy. somebody in the car industry called in a favor and had the fbi hand pick somebody he trusted and set him up to take him down. there was never any cocaine and the entire thing was fake, how do you go to jail for that if a crime never actually happened, just shows u what powerful people can get people in government police agencies to do if they don’t like them.

BOTH daddy Bush and Dubya, as well as "the last guy" all used the FBI to spy on gay rights and black rights groups as a "threat to national security" ...but then again, it's not like John Delorean was mishandling/hoarding national security secrets and lying to the FBI... or being on the HOMELAND SECURITY counsel going on national TV and EXPOSING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION...or REPEATEDLY COMMITTING PERJURY (on taxes, and and lying about being a drug addict to buy a gun) AT THE END OF THE DAY... Glossing over quite a few details, but understandable. Hudson was going under, and John used this to leverage himself into a chief engineering position. This brought about the first production automatic transmission. I believe 2nd place offering, for goverment funding, was in Vermont. John was looking at a rotary engine, but since it wasnt Mazda production, fell through and the PRV engine was the runner up. The FBI informant was looked at as a ruthless drug dealer. The day before he took off to the drug deal, he sent a letter to his personal lawyer. Saying he worried for his safety as well as his family.

9:58 - you put the flags on Northern Ireland in pretty much the opposite of the population demographics at the time (and even today I suppose). The east was the Protestant/Unionist majority, while the west was predominantly Catholic/Nationalist. In fact, the only places with a strong Protestant majority were North Down and Antrim.
