Corrections:
I was wrong about Brits using kilometers. While I knew the UK used the metric system, I did not know how much they mix up units, and apparently they use miles all the time for things like road signs and speedometers. Mentally replace the UK with another European country and the joke will work.

We measure distances in miles, height in feet and inches, but small lengths in centimetres and swimming pools in metres. We measure weight in kg and g if its food, but if it's a person then lbs and something we call stone that no one outside of Britain uses, and no one inside of Britain knows how much one of those is. We're pretty much on board with litres, except of course for beer and milk which has to come in pints.

The UK uses miles!!! We use a confusing mix of both Imperial and metric depending on the context. The entire reason its called "Imperial" is because it was the measurement system of the british empire. I have been to towns in Peru where they literally did have some of these cemetery buildings, although they were only a few graves high.
