Remember this game like it was yesterday. Maddox was good in 02 and decent in 03 then we drafted Ben. This game bothered me for the rest of the year because you should never give up a 17 point lead in the 4th. It's fitting that Vick ended his career as a Steeler because 2 of his most remarkable games was vs the Steelers, 02 and 06 and both were crazy finishes.

The greatest tie of all time lol. Not really something to be proud about for either team but it was entertaining as hell to watch as a fan. With the weapons both teams had, there is really no reason it should have ended in a tie. And for the game to end on a hail Mary pass that ends up being completed at the one yard line as time expires is the cherry on top of a "legendary" game 😂

A couple of records were broken in this game, but those records have since been broken. - Tommy Maddox threw for 473 yards, which originally broke Bobby Layne's franchise record. However, Maddox's record was broken by Ben Roethlisberger in 2009, when Ben Threw for 503 yards against the Packers and then for 500 plus yards two more times to break his own record. - Plaxico Burress set a franchise record with 253 receiving yards, until his record was broken in a November 2015 game against the Raiders by Antonio Brown, when AB had 284 yards receiving in that one. This was a wild crazy high scoring affair and it's not what the Steelers of this era were used to, as the year prior, they were a dominant running team but were transformed into a potent passing offense when Maddox took over for Kordell Stewart during the 2002 season.

And back then they had amazing defenses too. Ravens Steelers used to be THE rivalry to watch. Still kind of is.
