sha broussard that’s just objectively false. If Jordan wasn’t a team player of high caliber he wouldn’t have acquired 6 championships. Which is a team accomplishment no doubt. But he also was finals MVP each and every time his team won. I never claimed he won by himself. No one wins by themselves. But some pieces on the chessboard are more valuable than others. And MJ was the main piece. Lakers were not old. If you’re claiming that, what were the Celtics that Lebron left Cleveland for Miami? Or the Pistons, or the Spurs that beat Lebron. Or the Mavs of 2011 that beat Lebron. Gimme a break. It was simply The Bulls’ time as they rose to prominence by defeating the last 2 defending champions in the bad boys and the Lakers. And by the time of MJ three peating a second time, his Bulls teams were ‘old’

I think that jordan would have beat magic in a one on one game but not beaten him easily but he still would have gotten the victory,because all the things that magic does with his team would have not been able to do one on one .the only thing i could see magic doing mostly is using his weight and his few extra inches when going to the basket is trying to back michael up but jordan would of have to rely on speed quickness and skill point blank but then again they are always trying to make money off of people where as they should get off their ass and challenge somebody one on one beat them and get all the money they want.

Michael would’ve won. Not really because of his “quickness”, but because their roles were different. Michael was the scorer on his team, while Magic was the guy to get the rest of the team involved. True enough Magic would score when he needed to but how many 40+, 50+ & 60+ games did Magic ever put up? Scoring wasn’t his job.

Magic was a prolific scorer for his entire life until he was advised to scale back his scoring for the team's sake. Magic could have easily been an NBA elite scorer had he chosen that path, as would Larry Bird.
@kalon5115 жыл бұрын
@Kwame Kevin Young If you read my comment correctly, you’d see that I said Magic COULD score. An example of that would be the 1992 All-Star game where Magic hit 3-Three pointers to end the game. However, Magic was not a VOLUME scorer. Even in the game where the Lakers lost Kareem due to an injury, Magic played ALL positions and only put up 42 points in 1980. Maybe that was all the team needed to win but his CAREER high was only 46 against the Kings. Michael has scored over 40, 50 & 60 MULTIPLE times. Then there are the stories that other NBA players (including Magic) tell about Michael whenever he’s been challeneged. It seems Michael steps up to the challenge in a major way.
@s_ame11354 жыл бұрын
@@kalon511 For sure, Magic's strength relies on his teammates. MJ, on the other hand, can single-handedly win the game. So it's common sense, who's the better 1on1 player.

The majority of superstars wouldn't go for it nowadays. In the last 12/15 years how many superstars (and by superstars I mean future HOF) has even the Slam Dunk contest got? Only Dwight Howard and rookie Blake Griffin. Firmed superstars face the All Star weekend as a festivity and a resting period. That's also the reason why the All Star game is what it is. I understand we the fans would love to get such a treat but if you take the superstar's perspective is blatant how little that counts compared to finishing the regular season strong and being prepared to the play offs.

From buisness and money perspective, the NBA all had to do was prop up the game as much as possible and set up pre game results; first game Magic would win by two points, then a rematch, where MJ would win by two points (both players of course knowing the outcome) and then leave it open without ever playing 3rd match, that way would be a win win situation for everyone without anyone losing or looking bad.

Your proposal is not the truth and any distortion or Manipulation deviating away from them really giving there best to beat each other and win the one one one competition is a fraud by definition. This proposal was in the time of my generation and the public was expecting this event to happen, but it never did happen. Most people believed Michael Jordan would win because Michael Jordan basketball skills was many levels above the next best player of his generation in my opinion based on my observation of him playing the game. One last thing. I remember going to Madison Ave in Chicago to go see Michael Jordan play basketball in the year of 1986 and seeing him play in person was nothing like watching him on TV because in person you really could see the cat like quickness/reflexes and the leaping ability toppled with the ability to stop on a dime and immediately change directions was amazing to see. Michael Jordan was and still is the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. Now I believe someday there will come a time when some little black boy will emerge from some black neighborhood and dazzle the world again with basketball magic and when you see him you will know him because his skills shall be Bruce Lee like exceptional skills on the basketball court. Magic was the best point guard who's ever walked on a basketball court, but Jordan was a much better all-around player and was quick as f**k, plus he was literally a scoring machine. It doesn't matter in my opinion who would won the game.. They are both awesome players but what ever wrong I may see in Michael Jordan can't change my mind that he is the best ever play the game and the best athlete and the symbol of basketball!!!

It should be matched up by positions. It's unfair for the small guys to go against the bigs. lol

I grew up in the Jordan era I watched magic in his prime on tapes with that being said it would have been 50 50 Jordan at that time still wasn't as good as he was in the 90s when he came out of retirement and got established so it would have been a great match magic is always humble when he talks about Jordan but don't let his smile fool you he was a problem
