What a weird one. And if the dwarfs could spare one to keep watch over her "dead" body, why didn't one stay at home with her when she was alive to oh I don't know keep her safe?! And where's her dad, just married a queen and then is like " I'm out". I like her new name, Snaowdrop though, pretty, better than Snowwhite in my opinion. Your voice is beautiful and your commentary is amusing as always. Goodnight 😴

Maybe her father died, or was away visiting another kingdom or something and when he returned the Wicked Queen told him she was dead. (I have wondered that myself)

You should do the tale of "Snow-White-Fire-Red" (the title is all one name). It's actually a Rapunzel type story, not a Snow-White story, so don't let the name fool you.

Snowdrop.... Honestly I'm surprised this mom didn't name her child Snow Blood Ebony (OwO) But I guess she named her after a flower that grows in winter.... Cool.... It's good to know that people back then where good at naming their kids Also why are all the princes such perverts! What's so attractive about that I know it's written in the old ages and stuff but like why? Who in the world decided that that is completely fine? 0-0 Also I love your Chanel although most of these stories are really creepy and messed up it helps me relax ☺️ so thank you! :D

In the original 1812 version of the Grimm's tale , the prince took Snow White and never left her side besides when he had to do royal stuff ( and he was very sad when he did ) ... One day one of his servants who was forced to carry the body around, out of frustration kicked the girl in the back dislodging the piece of apple stuck in her throat and she came back to life ... During the wedding the queen appeared and was forced to wear hot iron shoes untill she died ... What you read sounds more like the Brothers Grimm's final version of the story published in 1852 ( fun fact : Ashenputle , bros Grimm's Cinderella ,had more than 50 re-writes and in one of the earlier ones the story was called "The Girl And The Tree"

Well I'm suposing that if the dwarfs cotage was outisde of the kigdom and the queen wanted to go there unsispiciosly it would be a long jorney so maybe Snowdrop was with the dwarfs for more than 3 days? Maybe 2 or 3 months? It would make more sence as a little kid that she forget and trustes the outsider so easilly even though it keeped happening and that the dwarfs got so atached to her.

7:21 - DM here! 👋 I use 5e, and, no, this wouldn't count as a complete full Long Rest. Not for the reasons you're probably thinking though! A long rest requires the player to have an EIGHT hour period of sleep, or very light activity (such as sitting by the fire or similar). So he is SO very Near a long rest, but falls just short. (Yes, I realize this was probably a rhetorical question, but I knew the answer and figured I'd share for those interested)

@@abitlate O.O First off, thank you for noticing and replying. 😄 He would have Disadvantage on all Ability checks the next day. Thank goodness he doesn't have to worry about combat (that we know of). With him being a miner though, he most likely wouldn't be having a great day between the Perception, Strength, and Dexterity checks. 😕

Oh I never realised that prople didn't know the servant/hunter was directly ordered to kill Snowhite returning as proof with her heart....wich was a boars heart instead as he couldn't do it. Also in the same I didn't know that there might be tales in wich the dwarfs dwarfs didn't had the table prepared allready and Snowhite did kinda do a goldie locks

I'm thinking the first queen turned peddler seen was probably thrown in to try and dissuade people from tightlacing their corsets. It always cracks me up to see the way the corset is portrayed in the media because it's so dramatic, and untrue.

During the time a lot of fairy tales were written, maidens really were betrothed at the young ages of 13 to 15. This was because people didn't live as long as we do nowadays, since medical sciences weren't as advanced as they are now. (For example, one method used to try to "cure" sick people involved bloodletting, or other remedies that probably made things worse.) I do agree 7 years was old is waaay too young to marry, even for a fairy tale. My theory is maybe, like our storyteller said, she spent a few years in the coffin and aged during that time as if she were asleep.

Interestingly, in my copy of The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales (the fancy Barnes & Noble version from some years ago) this version is called "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and the phrasing is slightly different. Translation is fun, am I right? 😆 Love the excuse to pull this book off the shelf!
@curtthegamer934 Жыл бұрын
The Barnes and Noble version of the story is either the Lucy Crane translation (if you get the older edition with the green cover) or the Margaret Hunt translation (if you get the newer edition with the blue cover). Both of these translations translate the title as "Snow White" (which is the literal translation), but the Barnes and Noble editions alter the text to change the title to "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" to make it more familiar. They also do this to Little Red Cap by changing it to Little Red Riding Hood.

On the subject of Snow being considered more beautiful than the queen at seven, my sisters and I were discussing it and I talked about how it likely referred to more than physical beauty. She was likely kind, empathetic, and compassionate. These things are skills that have to be practiced. Snow being more beautiful than even the queen likely means that the queen had stopped practicing those skills the more vain she became. Snow putting in the effort to be a good person is what made her the fairest of them all. On the contrary, the queen becomes crueler the more obsessed she becomes with her looks and so loses the title to snow.
@sabrinazarogoza8686 Жыл бұрын
SAlso WTF is up with that mirror? Queen asks who is the fairest in "THIS" land, yet the mirror proceeds to tell her about the princess in the next land over. That's the real drama starter right there.
