I'm still trying to figure out what the "stress" is that Katie said Delany was bringing?! She was there for like 3 days, she seemed to do what was asked of her and was friendly to all. The stress seemed to come, once again, from Matt who was whining like a ridiculous baby about having to move cabins, etc. He is so very needy and childish. He should have been gone from the beginning!!!

Totally agree with you … Katie didn’t like Delaney for some odd reason… she can do the laundry and that can help… so they can get some rest… the deck crew helped out the interior but Katie shouldn’t stretch out the team

Katie may be good at performing the transactions on the boat, but she was an extremely poor leader. I cringed at her indecisiveness and lack of assertiveness through many episodes.

What objective data and empirical evidence are you using to measure her 'effectiveness' as a leader? Because your last sentence is entirely subjective based on select TV clips, which only actually account for a tiny proportion of the total time that she actually worked as chief stew. You have no idea what was agreed with management for her work objectives, goals and measures for her leadership, and you have no idea to what extent she met or exceeded them. If she is still in a job as chief stew, then she was probably pretty effective as a leader.

Ha! Can't believe I'm actually commenting on this but I agree that Katie showed poor leadership at key times - she made a serious mistake in keeping Lexi after the horrible disrespect she showed for so many of the crew. Lexi was toxic, at least Delaney (Delahni Delahni, Lexi) could've been used to do laundry and dishes, rather than putting deck crew (Malia wasn't pleased) through more work. She still had Courtney who was very capable. I don't blame Mat, because Lexi was very rude to him from the start which put him off, and as a lower-ranked crew member she was completely out of line - bottom line is you look after the chef, you don't make problems for them. The 'family style' presentation came from the diverse dietary requirements of guests - there's no way for one chef to bring out a huge number of plates with different entrees together out of a small galley like that. I still marvel at the amount of work those chefs do! They ALL get stressed out, even the best ones (remember the famous meltdowns from Tom or Ben!).

Katie made two big decisions. First she kept Lexi on despite the fact that she was so extremely toxic. Second, she chose not to bring Delaney back. She could have done laundry, which would have taken a huge burden off of Courtney. Courtney is a rockstar. I can't believe how much work she got done. Katie's decision affected the deck crew by making more work for them, but even worse, it affected the guests experience. I guess should never have to go looking for a stewardess to bring them a drink. There should be someone there to wait on them hand and foot at all times. Period. That's what they are paying all of that money for, top quality, constantly attentive service.
