Insight was a wonderful program. It's really needed now.

This is a compelling and moving episode. What a shame that this lost treasure of a program has been completely silenced and forgotten. It had content that is far more humanly relevant than anything we see today. It touched on human dilemmas involving love, compassion, guilt, remorse, greed, selfishness, spiritual conflicts, acceptance, despair, etc.

Thanks for watching--with enough enthusiasm like this, Insight might make a comeback someday!

@@InsightPaulistProductions Maybe a revival on some station. I wouldn't mind seeing a completely updated version with young actors remaking some of the really good episodes too.

I would get up early Sunday morning and watch Insight on my own volition. We didn’t go to church so I guess I was seeking something about faith my own way. Glad to have found these videos on KZbin.

PBS produced several series aimed at preteens, adolescents and young teens throughout the late 1960's up until the mid 1980's, concentrating on honesty, morality and diversity, geared towards daytime classroom viewing, but of course without God being the inspiration for model behavior. Inside Out, Think About, Somebody Else's Place etc. I used to LOVE them! I can remember that they sometimes would include "religious" characters, such as a harassed young boy practicing for his Bar Mitzvah, or a church being used in the background as a food for the poor storyline etc.

I like how they leave the story open ended, no firm resolution.

I wish today (Monday, July 18, 2022) our society had morality religious shows as they had in the 1970s. Today, we need shows to teach this lost generation morality and values.

Interesting how the property. Vs people argument is still around. Also the politcal correct arguments about the word Retarted was not an issue.

Perhaps Martin Sheen was thinking of his father who passed away that fall, when he got emotional at the end. (This denim jacket is similar to the one he wore in Badlands.)

It’s Greg Brady’s rotten friend Tommy! He’s the one who got Greg to smoke cigarettes and let him take the blame when Tommy’s judgmental mother saw the cigs fall out of Greg’s pocket. Sinner!

It's too bad that the anthology format has vanished from television. The fun thing about this show was that anybody could appear on it and chances are you recognize them from something. The guy who plays Joe, Peter's friend, is none other than Alan Oppenheimer. AKA, the original voice of Skeletor and Man at Arms. This was, of course nine years before He-Man.

The death in this episode was a cheap shot. This feeling by the community has a name NIMBY (Not in my Neighborhood) and it still exists. I own my apartment. Honestly, I don't know how I'd feel or act in this situation. We certainly all want to think of ourselves as good people but how often are we put to the test? But what does it meab, anyway - do we eschew our own self-interest.
