Because people are very weary with regards to debating on Israel in case their comments are misconstrued and deemed as anti Jewish or anti semetic. It is somewhat frightening when people avoid the subject although they have an opinion.

To my experience most east European Jews that immigrate to america are usually conservative as far as political and their reasoning is they are fleeting from any form of communism as well as socialism and so they want to align with the least “socialist” party, maybe it’s the same in israel?

Despite this being a 'debate', these two people agree a lot more than they disagree. Both Dershowitz and Beinart are smart and both want the best for Israel, they just see it in different ways. Great video. Would love to see more of these.
