It is funny how they allow the cheaters to stand almost at the back of the banger.. Obviously that will account to pulling.. pathetic judges

I like Crossfit but this event just sucks. Firstly, why introduce weird events just for the sake of doing something different? Assault bangers and that horrendous cycling... Secondly, so much cheating in this.
@tylerbass42526 жыл бұрын
I’m not going to call out the athletes for this all they did was find an easier way and they weren’t getting called for it so they kept doing it. Who is at fault here are the judges they could easily give it a no rep and it wouldn’t happen again

@@StanleyKubick1 youve probably never worked out a day in your life. They are athletes just like any other sport. Takes years of sweat hard work and sacrifice to be in the shape these men and women are. Give them there credit for they have given their lives to being in the best possible physical shape of anyone in the entire world. What can you do more impressively than anyone in the world other than bash people working hard for their dreams ?

sanchez was cheating he was pulling the block every time when he hits it
@YaacovMyYaacov7 жыл бұрын
Let's address the elephant in the room, 1) hit & PULL is cheating !!!! Again, hit & PULL is cheating !!!! WTF Is anyone watching this ? 2) Lane 10 & 9 have some kind of an advantage. All the top winners are either from lane 10 or 9. The Block seem to slide smoother than all the other lanes. This event wasn't thought out good at alllllll.
@edenmckinnon84837 жыл бұрын
That was the whole point of the event, to surprise the athlete and not allow them to prepare.

crossfit is a form of marketing, and a fun way to burn calories for people who don't like to run, bike, lift weight and etc. there is no full motion of movement or proper form for almost half of the movements. you just need to find a shortcut an easy way to do more in the given amount of time.

If you come to crossfit and "don't like to run, bike, lift, weight and etc" well.. let's just say you won't have a good time. Btw, I'd like to clarify that yes, the technique in most of these athletes at this particular event is ridiculous and should not have been allowed like that.
@jackhammer84397 жыл бұрын
every single winner in the first three heats won by doing the movement incorrectly and pulled it to the finish...basically cheating...yet, it stands.. ahh Crossfit... I want to like it, but when it encourages and rewards cheaters...

Jack HAMMER i spoke to one of the event coordinators last year and asked how the judges identified questionable striking on the banger and he simply said " they are not properly trained on whats proper and whats borderline inappropriate because to establishing a method of striking that all need to conform to would be nearly impossible. With the sport still in its infancy things like this will work its self out . he said NASCAR teams modified cars to gain a edge in the early years and things were implemented to stop that from happening , they are working on a better method to keep it equal.if it was up to me i would install A strike plate that identifies upward pulling and calculates that amount and gives a penalty of time at the end or a DQ. This would be very easy to manufacture and install . i have sent emails to the organization with my idea and no one has given me the time of day.
@richardsanchez91906 жыл бұрын
in its defense theres cheating in a lot of sports. but i will offer this solution. what if the banger had a color band where you had to keep your feet within that band?
@seanclarke67334 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think this was simply a bad event, can’t all be good ones

if you go and watch the World Firefighter combat challenge, you'll see how it suppose to be done. short, choppy and powerful hits and you should be standing in front of the weight the entire time. that sled is something we (firefighters) all have to be good at because its almost a universal part of our yearly agility test. Even an average level firefighter would have beaten probably every athlete on the sled.
@YaacovMyYaacov7 жыл бұрын
"Cheating technique". Yeah. Always works. Till someone calls you out on it.

The whole idea of this event was the element of surprise, something they do each year to surprise and challenge the athletes, to provide them with an object that they have not been able to practice for. The whole point of the Crossfit Games, is to find the most all around and balanced athlete, not to find the best "fire fighter"
@Southend_Savage6 жыл бұрын
Every single one of these athletes are hitting that sled wrong go watch the firefighter combat challenge and see how you should actually hit that thinv

To those saying he is pulling it - how exactly does that work? How do you pull using a hammer & standing on top? I can understand using a rope & pulling from behind. You cant pull using a hammer that thing weighs too much But what is concerning are those who use huge swings - did they not prepare at all for these events?

If your a fireman you know how to actually advance the sled, look up a "Keiser sled" it's the exact same thing as the assault banger, grab the sledge close the the head and make short choppy swings, you advance the sled much quicker and don't use as much energy.
